Bernard was starting to get twitchy.
The full moon was a couple of days away and he was already going a little nuts; he had found himself chewing on one of his couch pillows the other day and he had to keep reminding himself not to chase the squirrels. That would look weird coming from a person such as himself. But it was hard to not do these things, and now he was getting cabin fever by trying to keep himself shut up at home all day. It just wasn't working. True, he was exhausted all the time, but he wanted to get out and get some fresh air. It'd probably do him some good.
That was what he was doing as he walked down the sidewalk, sniffing the air every once in a while and not really paying attention to his surroundings. He was too tired. That was why this was a good time to strike, and the young hunter took advantage of it. Bernard was normally much more wary than this, but now he was feeling off so his guard was down. Perfect timing.
The attack came in the form of a paintball gun. Rather cheesy in his opinion but it did the trick. He felt the bullet thing hit his back and let out a yelp initially of a startled nature- but the thing wasn't made out of paint.
It was made out of silver.
The yelp turned into one of pain as the liquid silver soaked through his sweater and splashed on the back of his neck, almost instantly causing a searing pain to burn on the affected areas. He was pretty allergic to high quantities of silver such as this; normally not enough to kill him but maybe now it would be enough, considering he wasn't exactly in perfect health.
Crap.

Pyronnis hides amongst the trees having, snuck away from her siblings to play tricks on unsuspecting mundanes. It was around the time for Halloween, and a mischievous Pyro wasn't gonna miss a bit...
Suddenly, a scream of pain pierces the silent night, making Pydronnis jump. Glancing to her left, she creeps closer to the scene.

Shivering violently against the cold, yet burning silver against his skin, Bernard let out another inhuman whine, twitching spasmodically as he tried to get the silver off. The problem was that it was that it was on his back, mostly, and it was a liquid. He wasn't getting it off anytime soon by himself.
Panting against the pain, he curled into an instinctive and submissive ball as the hunter approached. Now that he had the werewolf where he wanted him, he wasn't entirely sure what to do. He didn't know whether to finish Bernard off with his gun or just watch him slowly die of silver poisoning or what. This was his first successful hunt so cut him some slack- this was the farthest he had ever gotten without getting smacked around. It was a win in his book.
He was tempted to just kill the werewolf right then and there. He did seem to be in a lot of pain, after all. That might be the most humane thing to do. Still, did werewolves deserve humaneness? He wasn't sure.
Bernard was going to kill whoever invented the 'Werewolf = Evil' myth. If he didn't die first, that is.

Pyronnis steps from the shadows, her face emotionless and beautiful. She advances towards the hunter slowly, using long strides. The wind plays with her hair, blowing it across her face. Wow... She thought. So beauty is a good asset to have... She continues forward until she is right in front of the hunter, and smiles, saying nothing.
The hunter was caught off guard by this sudden approach and he backed off a little bit, ready to bolt if this chick made to call the cops on him or something. But something was off about her... Somehow he doubted that she was a normal human. She was probably connected to this whole ring in some way and that was why she wasn't screaming for help or something by now.
Being young and stupid and full of testosterone, the boy hung around, sizing her up carefully and momentarily forgetting about Bernard.
The werewolf himself was still panting, his eyes closed as he struggled to stay conscious. His allergic reaction was making it hard to breathe, and that in turn was making him tired. He knew he had to stay awake though; if he fell asleep, he probably wouldn't wake up. So he lay there, wheezing for breath and doing his absolute best not to growl again now that someone else was here. He smelled her, and she smelled... Different. He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

This idiot... Pyronnis thought. She could practically see the hormones pouring from his body. Stepping, forward, she takes the boys chin inner hands, and moves her face slowly closer to his... Before reeling her head back, and smacking it hard into his, causing him to fall to the ground. That was easy... Now to the wolf. Waiting no time, Pyronnis takes a flask of enchanted water from her anklet "You only need a drop..." she tells him, as she pours the correct amount onto his tongue. "This will cleanse anything poisonous from your body. Hydronnia herself gave it to me." Turning her attention to the hunter who lay passed out at their feet. Well... That was quick. She smirks, her face a mask of beauty.
Bernard flinched slightly at her touch, although he didn't have the strength to struggle away. Good thing, too, since the pain slowly died away after the contact with the water. It seemed to neutralize the silver for a bit; who knew how long that would last. But for now he would get his breath back, think about things for a minute, see what his next move was.
Carefully, his hands still shaking a little, he fixed the glasses that had gone askew on his nose and cautiously opened his eyes, his large green eyes studying hers for a moment before closing again to assess the situation. After a moment of though, he finally mouthed two words (he didn't quite have the breath to speak them yet) :
Thank you.

Pyronnis nods once, sitting by his side. Though she didn't know him well, she couldn't help but feel for the poor guy. She smiles softly, her face the very definition of adoration. "You're welcome," She whispers back. The smile slowly fades away, and she stands. Pyronnis didn't stay calm or still for Long. "We need to get going. Can you stand? I knocked him pretty hard, but I have no idea when he'll wake up. That water should hold you for about an hour or so, but then the pain will return, unless you get a healer." Pyronnis looks at him, sparks flying from the tips of her hair. "I'm not a healer, but my sister, Terranna is, and I learned a few things from her. I can help you, but you need to get up. We may not have much time.
"Just need to get the s-silver off and I'll be fine," the werewolf slowly sputtered, shaking his head, fixing his glasses once more and hauling himself into a sitting position. "After that it's just a m-matter of dealing with the b-burns." Undoubtedly it had burned him, at the very least given him a nasty rash. Once it was off though and he got some good rest, he'd be fine. A little traumatized, maybe, but fine.
He staggered to his feet, his shoulders still itching from their encounter with the molten ore. He shivered a moment before opening his eyes and looking at Pyronnis, asking her silently to lead the way.

Pyronnis nods once, understanding his silent plea as if it had been spoken a loud. Turning on her heal, she walks slowly through the night, her bare feet making no sound. Careful to keep a steady pace that was easy for Bernard to keep up with, she glanced at him. "What's your name?"
"Bernard," he replied quietly, glancing back once to make sure the hunter was still out. It didn't look like the guy was getting up anytime soon, so he relaxed a little and turned back to Pyronnis. "My name's Bernard. What's yours?"
It was a little direct in his mind; he normally did things like introductions in a more subtle way. Why, he didn't know, but it was something about his pack mentality that drove him to be subdued. Yeah, he wasn't a part of a pack, but if he was he would be at the very bottom.
Such was life.

Pyronnis smiles, her expression one of mockery. "My name?," she chuckles, a sound easily the most joyful sound ever heard. "Well. My offical name, title included is Princess Pyronnis Pyronessia Flame of the Elemental Empire." Throwing her head back, she laughs again, sparks flying from the tips of her hair. She looks at him, a smile on her amazing face, a cheerful light in her eye. "However, I prefer a more modest form of recognition. Pyronnis." She grins. "You seem smart Bernard," Pyronnis smiles, and leans forward, as if she were telling him a secret. "I suppose you figured out that I'm not human then?"
