It's a lawless place, The Outer Rim, so far from the control of the core. Its where people come to start new lives, and run away from their problems. It's a place that has everything you could ever want, love, fame, fortune, adventure, you just have to know where to look for it.
It's an odd place, The Outer Rim, so far from one would call normal. I've heard tales of strange happenings, and even stranger people. Ships disappearing in the blink of an eye, and people appearing out of the black with tales of a universe far different from ours.
Everyone comes to the outer rim, looking for something, but you never know what you might find, or what might find you.

Well, then do I have the RP group for you.
Much of this RP will consist of what you would expect from a western, a couple of guns wandering the trails looking for work, all the while coming to terms with there past. But even better? WE have lasers, can a cowboy from the 1890's say that, I thought not. And who needs a horse when you can just fly a spaceship? Ghost town? More like frontier world. All the thrill of a western adventure, but IN SPACE! Did I mention the Lasers?
For this group, a lot of the details are undefined right now, but we are planning on doing some unique things.

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Far future, perhaps interstellar travel (faster than light)
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played with a small group of players.
One of the cool things we plan on doing in this RP is allowing multiple people to take the reins as a GM of sorts, allowing them to make their own adventures and lore for a short time, all the while the same characters will be running.
This way, there is a lot more unique takes on the genre, and no one adventure is the same.
It will also help relieve stress from both player and GMs, players get to act out there lore fantasies without stepping on a GM's plot, and Gms dont have the un ending stress that is session planning.
It will not be required, you are more than welcome to play solely as a player and not take part, but it'll be fun either way!
When it comes to characters we are also very much open ended, for the same reason that everyone can make there own world, you can make your own race (Its' a wide galaxy). However there will be a limit, no Mary Sues or Gary Stus (no one is perfect, not even in fiction) , nor can you be an all-powerful, or even generally overpowered being (i.e. Q, Superman, Emperor Palpatine, Dr. Manhattan, etc., etc.). So long as you are playing nice and not claiming total dominance you should be alright to be whatever or whoever you want.
This way, there is a lot more unique takes on the genre, and no one adventure is the same.
