"Wow, next you'll be saying there are bandits in these woods," Daedrin said, with a very sarcastic tone. A day from here, he could live till' the next village. Daedrin looked at the sun, it seemed to be midday now. "Well, it's best that we get a head start now and find a good place to camp. That's what I'd say but hey, you're the leader of this mission, so it's your call."
"If we search for a place now I would be a waste of time. I want to get this over with as fast as I can. Akai is going to give birth soon. I don't want to miss that," he said, "It's my child after all."
"So, pick up the pace, I presume," Daedrin said as he started walking significantly faster than before. Daedrin had almost forgotten to ask before he embarked upon this journey and immediately stopped in his tracks and turned around to face Nomti. "Hey, I almost forgot to ask, are you going to be paying me any sum in particular after this little trip?"
Nomti easily kept pace, "If course. If you live, you will be payed handsomely. We are stopping tr end of the world after all."
"You do know you would have attracted more attention and maybe more warriors if you said the world was ending, right?"
(Ready to timeskip to whatever point you want. If you want to, that is.)

"I did," he retorted.
That night, Nomti was sitting quietly in front of a fire he made, looking deep into the flames.
"Can you do something for me? If I don't make it?" he asked.

"Well, assuming you don't make it, I'm pretty sure I won't," Daedrin says. "You should have given one of us a bow to cook food on, man... This is ridiculous," Daedrin fell backwards onto the ground and just lay there, looking at the trees, and what little he could see of the sky.
Daedrin thinks for a small bit then breaks the silence by replying, "Yeah, yeah, I'd do something. What would you need?"

"There's one in that bag," he pointed to a leather sack he had been carrying and inside was an entire cooking set which was collapsible so that it could fit. Among them was a spit and roasting sticks. Anything to help cook over a fire.
"Anyways... I know it's really cliche, but I need you to go back to Egypt and tell Akai... That I love her and the only reason I did this was to make sure that she and the baby are safe..." he looked down, his ears drooping, "But if we both die, there wouldn't be an Egypt to go back to..."

(Feeling much better! ^^)
"Yeah, and if you do die and I live, who's to say I stopped this 'worldly destruction' thing?" Daedrin chuckles tiredly. "Do you know how they plan to destroy the world, Nomti?" He asks, hoping for some reassurance that the two of them could take out whatever was going to do this.

(Good I'm glad)
"I have no clue, honestly. They're going to try to resurrect Set, who has the ability to destroy the world. And if I die, take the necklace I have," he lifted a small pendant made out of a solid chunk of ruby.

"Cute necklace," Daedrin grunted. "Bet it's worth a lot, eh?" He joked, laughing a bit afterwards. "Yeah, sure, you want me to take that to her, too?"
"That's what I meant. Take it to her, not for yourself," he rolled his eyes, "But there's a spell on it to prevent theft, so I'd I die, don't even think about keeping it."
"That's one hell of an intriguing spell. Hey, do you know any combat spells of sorts? All I know is healing, and I may want to know something different for this mission,"
"Yes, I do... Well, kinda. They're more summoning sorts of spells and a human can only use them if they're a priest. I might be able to teach you a fire spell though," he offered.
"That could come in handy," Daedrin said, "I'm not asleep yet, so where do I start?" Daedrin slowly got up onto his feet.
"First, show me your healing spell. How does it work for you?"
"I usually just will myself to heal another's wounds. Although it is more of an up close spell if I want to be precise about how I heal. I can heal from afar but with much less accuracy, and it won't heal as quickly either," Daedrin explains.
"Hope that helps."
"Hope that helps."
"Interesting... This is how mine works," he said and said a few words in Egyptian. A ball of glowing, cream light appeared in his hand and he clenched his hand into a fist. The goeing light spread over him, radiating an aura of warmth. Then he pushed his palm towards Daedrin and the light moved from Nomti's furry hand and spread the same aura over his body.
"My fire spells work the same way, except it's a little ball f fire in my hand."

Daedrin looked surprised when Nomti did that. "It works well as a light in the dark too then?" Daedrin asked jokingly. Then his look became more serious and he became lost in his own thoughts for a bit.
"Interesting, it could be that I inherited this form of healing. I learned it by myself too, so that may be why it differs so much compared to yours. Or different areas have different ways of performing magics. Like group spells, I believe those who use those types and worship evil, much like set, are usually a cult of some sort. I don't know, as I've said before, I have been cut off from the world of magic for so long that all I know how to do is heal. I barely even know myself how I know how to heal, I guess it came naturally to me or somethin' along those lines."

"Stuff like that happens," he shrugged, "I have no idea how I would teach you... You might not have the same affinity for magic like we do. We're born to fight and use magic, I already had the fire as part of me, I just needed to learn how to use it."
