As I suspected, it has been super hard for me these past few days to keep up. I have a 12 pg paper due Monday that I've only got 4 pages on.
I am sitting at 35,045 today, after having written in class like a bad student.
I am HOPING to get all my crap done soon so that I can get a little bit ahead. I've got so much that's due right after Thanksgiving break though that I'm starting to really worry. D:
Oops, I probably should have posted more in this thread. I made my goal of 65k, though validating always loses a few words here and there. And I'm waiting to get a copy through CreateSpace so I can go through and edit the story for spelling/plot/details. I'm probably looking at adding an additional 5-10k.

That being said: there's still time to write and win!!! There are always several people who wait until the last day to write their hearts out--so don't worry if you're falling behind. Just take a notebook with you and write in every spare second you have. You'll be amazed at the results! :D

*cheering you on!*
I've not done well at all :-/ I've got pages written out but have yet to type it up so I can get a real word count. But now that I am out of training...I..have a couple days? D:

Redbeard and I are sitting at around 32k each. We're pretty far behind. Saturdays have become our "catch-up" days! :P We sit at a Starbucks with friends and write all day.

That must be fun! I find writing on the weekend is harder for me XD

This used to be the case for me! I would write best in class or on weekday evenings. And I would always laugh about the "coffee shop writer" stereotype. But... these past few Saturdays have been great! XD Just getting out of the house to a place where I'm only going to work on my novel really gets me into the right headspace. Plus we usually write with our barista friend who gets us free drinks. 8D
I HIGHLY advocate the Write Or Die program, I use the free web app. I wrote four thousand words in just a couple hours, with some minor interruptions. It is SUPER motivational, and I am highly considering buying the Write or Die 2 program which has a lot more fancy stuff. If you're a student, like I am, you can get it for 15$ instead of 20$. To me it'd be a good investment, so I really am considering it.

Anyways, Write or Die RULES with motivation, especially if you set short amounts of time and put the levels on 'kamikaze' and 'strict'. 'Kamikaze' starts erasing the words you've written if you stop typing for too long.
PERFECT for people who are falling behind (like I was) and want to catch up fast!!

If you manage to count out your words on paper you can always evoke the Luddite Clause if you don't think you can type all of it up.
I'm finding that I sit down to write and really flounder at first. I get about 500 words in and think I won't be getting any further. And then suddenly I've written my 2k for the day and have ideas for tomorrow. The other day I barely got through 100 words and in an hour or two I had written 3000. It's odd XD

Lime and I decided since we're pretty close to being done with the month (and it is highly unlikely that anyone else was going to put their name in at this point) that it was safe to pull the raffle winners!

So without further ado, here are the Winners!

Ahahahah you guys are so cute!!
(This is why I totes love this community)

Congrats to the winners, and keep chugging everyone! Almost there!!

Awww, thanks for the complements :3

I'll be messaging everyone in a few days. We want them to see the video first XD
Oh man! I am super super super excited. I am actually typing up my written stuff now and hopefully with what I had already typed before.. Well my fingers are crossed that I at least broke last years attempt :-/
Congratulations to all the winners!
Woo hoo! This totally made my day. Congratulations to all!
I know the raffle is over and all but we've sort of been talking about progress. Just wanted to say I finished my first NaNo today :3
Yay Fox!! *throws confetti* :D :D
WHEE omg I honestly nearly forgot about this :D so I am soo glad you guys still included me in the drawing even though I didn't really update in this thread haha!! and when my name was drawn first in the vid I think I made everyone in the house wonder what was wrong with me with my screeching.

Congrats to all the other winners, too <3 Excite!!

And I guess I'll give an update now :) I have been behind nearly all month because I started out 4 days late being at a con. But I finally caught back up at 40k yesterday, and I am nearing the end- so it is smooth sailing from here! This year I ended up with a large array of surprise characters, who didn't show up in last year's novel much- but each of my surprise characters have pulled their weight in a way I could never have imagined they would have. They are going to -make- this story, I think! I couldn't be more excited. FMC also is having a surprise ending... I think it may be sad, but a good move for her that will ease her heart, so in the end it will be happy. Writing about a circus has been more fun than I could have even imagined it would be. I love all of my characters, and I am glad that I don't exactly have to leave them yet... The revision process on this one will be brutal! Haha.
YAY Congrats Fox!! And keep it up, Pandah!! :D

I myself hit 47k last night, and I'm planning on finishing the rest of it today if I'm lucky (prepping for Thanksgiving tomorrow is super stressful since it's at my house but I might be able to get in some words)! Good luck in the final few days everyone!! :)
