Leliana hadn't noticed what was going around her. Not when a woman named Susan walked in it when Sam descended up to a file cabinet.

Her eyes were wide as she stare at the cabinet in front of her. It was a small cabi et, only containing some soldiers whose files had managed not to fall apart in th last hundred years.

She tensed when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder, her bodies natural reaction to quickly move away from it. When she saw it was Sam she relaxed a bit,"Well um..."she turned her eyes to the side before she stood.

She got to her feet, quickly adjusting her clothes as she looked away,"Just..."she turned her eyes down, her nails digging into the skin of her wrist as she tried to control so much shame and just pure hatred for herself,"I-I don't want to talk about i-it..."she turned and quickly left the building.

Sam got on his knees and hugged her tightly "Tell me when you're ready. i'm always going to be here for you" he whispered in her ear.

Susan smiled at them both and very quietly left them to each other, it was way too early for others to come to a boring place such as this but Sam never really care for others except his friends.

She was thrown off when he suddenly higged her and gave in, a flood of years running down her cheeks,"It's my fault...a-all my fault..."she sobbed, burying her face against his chest.

"Why the he** did I have to have this...this horrible power! I-I want to go home Sam...I miss them, I shouldn't be here..."

"Hey hey" his voice was soft as he rubbed her back "don't cry, it's done more good than bad this power" reassuring her. Sam helped her up "here, lets go home and get ready, we have a patrol coming up" he slowly helped her to the enterance, holding her close as she sobbed "we have lives to save as well as preserve the ones that are with us" his voice was stern for a while as be held her.

He stood opposite her and lifted her by her chin, smiling at her he placed his hands on her arms "lily, if I can stay strong, the. I KNOW for a fact you can too"

Leliana knew he was right. She had already made a promise to protect them but that didn't change her view on this stupid power but...it was necessary so she would wield it.

She pulled away, wiping her eyes before sue nodded,"Yes...your right. Let's go home..."she smiled back slightly before she turned around.

Sam nodded and took her home, staying beside her all the way need she a friend if she broke down again. Sam opened the creaking door to a worried family, all his friends were waaiting for them, worried that something bad hadn't have happened. Ben and Nicole sat at the table worried whilst Clease and Jenice made coffee for everyone.

As the door slowly opened to both Sam and Lily, a smile graced their lips, all of them rushing off to see if they were okay "Where were you?!" asked Nicole, her demanding and stern look was that of a worried mother but Sam just smiled half heartedly.

"I'm sorry for all of this, we had things to see and take care of" Sam said shutting the door behind him as they both stepped in

"we were all worried sick!" Clease said with relief, he held 2 cups tight as he gave one to Sam and Ben.

"Thanks" Sam said to clease as he took a sip "I'm sorry but we had something to do" he murmured taking another sip. Janice handed lily a cup "drink up, we've got a recon corps scout mission to get to" she said taking a sip from her cup before sitting at the table.

"Recon corps... I didn't think it's be this scary..." Nicole said staring into space, her hands slightly from being so nervous.

Leliana accepted the cup with a smile. She sat down at the table, cradling the warm cup in her hands as she listened to her new friends. She chuckled softly at their nervousness," There's nothing to be worried about. What with friends like us to keep you safe."she comforted,placing a hand on Nicole's.

"I'm sure things have changed since I've been gone but it seems technology hasn't gotten any better so I may be of more use that just my shifting."she praised to take a sip, slipping into a more corporal sort of tone,"I am very curious about you Sam. Since well you can summon limbs quite easily but I wonder if you can turn into a full titan."she mused,leaning on her hand as she stared at the liquid in her cup.

Sam leaned against the wall opposite the team, it felt like everything was there except one person. Sam looked between his friends "guys, i think we give our friend a warm welcome" Sam said putting his cup on the table.

"Right!" Ben and Clease said together in an excited tone. Both of them got up and made for the bedroom with Sam, Re-entering the living room with something wrapped up in a blanket. The blanket itself was checkered with the colours of red and blue.

"We want you to have this, you're family now" Nicole said placing a caring hand on her shoulder, she stood up and walked over to the boys, standing alongside them.

"We've all grown up together without any parents... All of us together are here because we loved each other." Ben said as the placed wrapped item on the table in front of her

"There were times we starved, froze, labored, cried, bled and sweated for each other..." Clease said sliding the wrapped item across the table closer to her. Sam walked around the table ad stood besides her looking down at her with an accepting and loving smile.

"But we have, together, stared life in the face and took on anything that was thrown at us. We're a family and now, you're a part of it" Sam said unwrapping the item. it was a key to the house and a crest that needed sowing onto anything she desired "This is our family crest" Sam said kneeling down besides her

Leliana looked at the item in front of her in surprise. She gingerly lifted the key into her hands, stroking the cool metal. Next she gently stroked the crest, gazing at it warm tenderness. Next she looked to her new family, nodding slowly as her cheeks turned a soft shade of pink,"T-thank you...all of you..."

She took a moment to collect herself, pressing the crest to her heart,"I've never felt so at home amongst people, I've always sort of felt like a black sheep but I think meeting all of you was meant to happen."she placed a hand on Sam's shoulder, giving a gentle squeeze,"I swear on this crest to protect and love each of you..."she had actually started to tear up.

Sam smiled and looked back at his friends who smiled at a blessing they've received. they may have lost a friend but she'l always be around to watch over them.

A few weeks had passed and the recon mission that was scheduled was changed to a later date. Same and Leliana were in the training grounds in the sparring ring " okay lily, show me what you learnt in the few weeks of being here" he said throwing up an Mixed Martial Arts stance. His opponent was Leliana "and, in return i'l show you how your training has paid off for me.

In the past few weeks, both of them have been training vigorously to hone their skills and, since Leliana was rusty on her training, Sam taught her MMA and in return, she taught him to use titan shifting but Sam's ability to learn things straightaway was pretty weak.

Leliana threw up her fists, her foot shifting forward slightly as she concentrated on Sam. After a long moment of stillness she rushed forward, her hands went down as crouched. She turned her waist while she slammed her palm to the ground, one leg whipped forward to hook his ankle and in only seconds she had him on his rear end. The ravenette dusted off her hands, letting out a deep beneath before she offered her hand to her friend with a smile. Leliana had always been a fast learner.

"Alright, let's see it."she said with crossed arms. There was a bit of excitement in her eyes whenever Sam, shifted mostly because she was proud of just how ambitious he was.

"Oucha!" he said rubbing his bum, standing up he arched over nursing his back "Okay, not bad, I'm a good teacher i guess... Way too good apparently " he murmured the last part Best 2 out of 3" he said trowing up his fists.

He waited for her to trow the first punch, dodging her punches one at a time but was caught off guard by her round house kick which landed on his right cheek. He quickly retaliated and grabbed her right arm then twisted it behind her, throwing her over his foot ad winning the round by submission "There are different kinds enemies out there, this MMA trainin could come use ful in titan mode. Last round wins" he winked at her wit a cheeky smile and threw up his fists once more

Leliana grunted, dusting herself off before he pulled her hair back as she eyed him. Unfortunetly she often got competive so she felt the need to win this but all in good fun of course. She put her fists up again, her foot suddenly stopping, causing the other to flinch which she quickly took advantage of by grabbing his shoulder, her knee coming up to connect with his back. She didn't actually slam it into his back but enough to have him on his back on the ground.

She smirked down at him, taking a few steps back in case he tried anything funny,"I win then. Now get off the ground and let's see some titan shifting."she chuckled, placing a hand on her hip.

Sam pouted on the floor "alright..." He said jumping onto his feet. "but I let you off easy" he said with a cheeky smile. He took a step back and bit his bottom lip and crossed his arms, for a second nothing happened...

That was until his legs shifted into Titan legs and launched him into the air. "Ohh shit!" He yelled flailing his arms in the air until he came crashing into the floor face first, he laid there "owww" was all he could manage before his body totally shifted. His body released enough smoke to cover the training grounds making it impossible for anyone to see. His glowing yellow eyes were the only thing that you could in the steam.

Once it was cleared Sam was crouching, looking down at leliana with a smile. His joints released steam every now and then.

Leliana took a few steps back before she gave him the clear. She laughed softly when he hit the ground but quickly turned serious once he had completely shifted. She walked over to Sam once the smoke had cleared,"We'll still need to work on the shifting but I'm impressed. You've done well she praised before she bit her lip.

After only a moment and a cloud of steam clearing she stood there, her large tongue loolling out of her mouth.

She gently patted Sam before she straightened," Test...control..."she growled, motioning for him to follow her to a large field where they could go all out without hurting anyone.

Sam loosened up, his joints released steam every now and then. Instead of walking into the field he felt a surge of energy in his legs. He kneeled down in jump-ready position and launched himself into the air high enough to jump over the wall.

He felt totally free beyond the boundaries of the wall for once. He stood there smiling back at her, his feet turned into metal to cushion the blow.

A low rumble surged from her throat, something similar to a chuckle as she watched him jump up over the wall. She followed only moments after. She couldn't quite smile due to the size of her tongue so she just affectionately patted his head.

She took a moment to look at his joints, even grabbing his ankle to look at the metal on his feet. She thought he was definitely one hell of a titan. She motioned towards a titan a few guards away,"Kill..."

Sam smiled sheepishly and couldn't laugh well, when she grabbed his foot it kinda tickled and felt strange when she lifted it off the ground, he had to hop n one foot to stay balanced. Each time he jumped the floor shook.

"Oi! You two!"One of the guards yelled from atop the wall "Don't stray too far, we may 'forget' what you like" Sam looked at him and looked at him with a slight annoyed look, His giant titan hand sticking the middle finger out at the puny guard. All of the surrounding guards were practically rolling on the floor laughing, Sam couldn't laugh straight but when he tried it sounded like a rumbling deep "Heh heh hehe"

Sam looked at the titans She pointed out and he nodded his head, getting into a running stance his arms turned solid metal and his knees, ankles and shoulder let off steam before he bolted in their direction. A 9m titan eventually turned it's head but too late as Sam was already there. He grabbed it quickly and lifted it by it's head. The titan struggled and kicked in his metallic hand but Sam squeezed hard enough to crush it's head. Blood blood gushed out of it's headless body

Leliana let out a hiss of steam from the corners of her mouth to expel excess heat, she ignored the guards, simply walking after Sam to make sure he didn't lose it.

Back in her time she had always been referred to as calm and level-headed. Even a hundreds years later, and in a titan body that remained true. She watched his actions, her head tilted to the side as she studied his Titan. It was so unique, and she felt almost fascinated by it since this was her friend. Even in this form she could absolutely see his personality leak through.

She placed a hand on his shoulder,"Need...test how...many can kill..."she hissed before she let out a shriek with her head thrown back. It only took a moment before titans were hurrying over to them.
