Over the radio clipped to Robert's combat armor, the voice of the general in charge of the defense of the Athena system gargled through.
" All units, civilians have been evacuated from every population center on the planets. However, reading indicate over ten thousand Purger Super ships are inbound. We cannot stand against those odds. Fall back the the spaceport and prepare for evacuate to ships in space and await further orders."
"You heard that kid?" Robert called over to Vagabundo. "It's time to fall back!" With that, he tapped the shoulders of nearby troops and the all began to move back in a leap frog pattern, with half the squad covering the other half as they moved down the street. Robert hit his communicator. "This is Bravo-1 requesting transport to the spaceport." After a few seconds, a voice on the other side replied.
"Rodger that, Bravo-1. Head for main street and link up with armored units covering the retreat. they'll bring you in.[/i]" Muttering a quick affirmative, Robert continued on his way.

A mortar hit near Vagabundo, forcing him to drop the machine gun as he ran. He pulled out his pistols, slightly turning as he ran, shooting back at the Purgers. "Oi! Oi! Muere sucios cerdos! Hacer frente a la ira de Vagabundo y la furia de las armas que esgrime!"
"Federation vessels and planet. This is Field Marshal Ascrith of the HRA Empire. I've come to your assistance. Who is leading the defense of the planet?" Ascrith asked, and thought for a second. He'd gotten a transmission about two things. One, the civilians were being evacuated, and two, there were more enemy ships coming in. He knew this planet was a lost cause if he ever saw one, and knew they had to abandon it. But something else...
"Position ourselves parallel with the planet, one side facing the incoming Purger fleet, and the other side facing the planet itself. Reload all weaponry on board, and tell the others to do the same. Form a wall of ships around the evacuation vessels. When the rest of the Purgers get in range, fire everything." Ascrith ordered, touching a few commands on his control panel in front of him. He had ordered a few gunships to fly down to the surface to look for anyone who was still alive and hadn't escaped, namely soldiers.
"Sir, the first wave is down. Repeat, first wave down!" The captain replied, and the men began cheering. But they weren't out of the woods yet. Only to a clearing.

Vagabundo looked back, seeing the diminished number of troops in the air. He ran past a group of friendly soldiers. "Go! Go! Time to go!" He shouted, dropping his empty pistols. A blunt force hit him in the side of the head, sending him tumbling to the ground. He stood up, only to be met with a fist. He retaliated with his own hands, punching and jabbing as he was being subjected to the same. As he pushed the man back enough for him to stagger, he jumped forward, slamming his helmet onto his head. The man fell, unconscious. He pulled out his spare pistol, shooting him before running again.
Two Thunderhawk Gunships soared through the sky of the planet below, and spotted some men running away from the Purgers. The gunner on board ordered an open fire, and the Gunship ran a strafing run into the column. Two 50mm automatic cannons open fired, and ripped apart the purgers with ease. The four 20mm double barreled cannons also made quick work of a few of them, but it was the bombs that began finishing them off.
"This is the Gunship TG-14256. Do you need assistance?"
"This is the Gunship TG-14256. Do you need assistance?"
"Rodger that Gunship." Robert said as he ran with his squad. "We need a ride back to the spaceport. Any chance you'll be willing to?" He turned around and provided cover for the other half of the squad that had been acting as a vanguard, allowing them to move up to his position. Despite the incoming fire of the gunship, Purger war machine were still rolling up the street in a steady and defiant pace.
"The spaceport is not safe at this time. In fact, all the evacuation craft have disembarked. We'll be happy to take you back to the HRAS Imperium, though." The pilot said, and came down onto a landing cycle. He clicked a few buttons, and the landing gear was deployed. "Target the tanks with the Valkaries, and deploy smoke around the landing site. Get the turrets online, too,"
Instantly, the Valkarie missiles fired, screeching through the air with a horrible noise and smashing through the tanks, and onto the other, then exploding. Smoke grenades were fired, and a smoke screen was set up in a circle. Two huge cannon turrets were set up and began targeting Purger infantry, smashing them apart with huge 23mm shells.

Vagabundo ran into the pick-up area. Turning back, aiming at anything that moved with his rifle.
"Roger, we'll cover the LZ so you can land." Robert quickly ordered the rest of the squad to form up and add their own gun fire to the gunship's own. Purger after Purger fell, but their tanks and armored vehicles continued forward, even when a anti-tank rocket fired from one their RPGs failed to stop one. He had to admit, the Purgers knew how to make their tanks. "Gunship, if you wouldn't mind landing now, you know, before that Armor gets here."
"Roger that. Alpha squad! Beta and Cappa squad! Lock and load!" The pilot shouted, and the gunship landed. The huge frontal doors slammed open, and for a moment, the inside was dark. Then came the muzzle flash of five guns, and 10 lasguns. Out of the darkness stepped five massive space marines, led by one space marine sergeant carrying a boltgun and a chainsword. Huge bolter shells, 23mm in diameter, ripped across the field.
The lasguns, though, came from the highly charged lasguns of the Death Korps, a special unit made and trained by the SS for hit and run missions.
"GET IN NOW!" The sergeant yelled, firing at anything that attacked them.

Vagabundo ran toward them, diving into the ship. "Asta la vista amigos!" He shouted, laughing.
"MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!" Robert bellowed. He and his squad began sprinting towards the gunship, occasionally shooting behind them at the encroaching Purgers. the Purger battle tanks now began to fire upon the gunship while it's anti-personnel guns opened fire on the fleeing soldiers. The squad climbed aboard the gunship, each one covered in soot and out of breath. Robert was the last Federation soldier inside the ship.inside
"Good for you to join us, amigos!" Vagabundo said. "I'll consider this one a win!"
As soon as the other guys got into the gunship the men scrambled in, not a single one dying. The massive tank rounds bounced off the void shields or blew up on contact, weakening them. The massive fighter transport wouldn't be able to hold much more. "GET DOWN!" The pilot shouted, and closed the doors. As soon as they took off, four Valkarie missiles screeched through the air again, ripping up the tanks like paper.
"Are you alright?" The sergeant asked, reloading his weapons and putting them in their holsters. The Space Marines stood eight feet tall, and were huge. They wore massive power armour suits that could withstand lots of things, even 50mm cannon fire. If lucky. They were a friendly blue, with the HRA flag on the right shoulder pad, and the unit designation on the left.
Next to them was the ten Death Korps soldiers. They didn't speak, they didn't move. They sat in their seats, and watched them from their gas masks. Each one wore green camouflage underclothing and jet black armour with the SS lightning bolts on the right shoulder, and on the left was the white skull. They didn't have the HRA flag on them. None of the SS did. Ever.

"So, could you use additional troops? I'm sure the boys back at home could help!" Vagabundo said as he walked across the ship.
"Well, you'll have to talk to the Field Marshal first. You might want to sit down, too. It gets bumpy here," The Sergeant replied, and as soon as he said that, the ship lurched forwards, backwards, and up and down.
As it lurched down, he held his hand up, keeping him in place, he used the momentum of one of the horizontal bounces to launch himself into a seat. "Great! When can I meet him?"
"Whenever the Gunship gets into the docking bays. You're in for a sight. We have one Battle Barge in charge. The entire 1st fleet," The sergeant replied, and smiled. He loved impressing mortals.
"Sure, that's great." Robert mumbled absentmindedly. The Purgers had taken another world, killing billions, civilian and military alike. He checked the ammo and his rifle, only to find the clip had only three rounds left. Instinctively, he reached for another clip on his battle armor, but couldn't find one. Only then did he realize how beat up the combat armor was. Originally a spotless teal and white, the armor was filthy and pick-marked by grazing from Purger weaponry.he then turned his gaze to his bicep where the torn dark blue sleeve that bore the insignia of the Federation was, in order to examine the flexible, Kevlar-like mesh that made up the second layer of the combat armor. However, due to the mesh's dark gray coloring, he wasn't able to find any noticeable damage. Beneath the Kevlar was the final layer, the Environmental suit which kept troops cool in hot climates and warm in snowy ones. He then reached up and removed his face hiding helmet. the helmet usually had a heads up display on the battle, but the damn thing had stopped working a day ago, and now he could see the a round had gone through the topmost portion, no doubt damaging the helmet's processor. He laid the headgear on the floor and looked at the rest of the squad, only to find them doing the same as him. He then looked at the Sergent. "Thanks."
Vagabundo pulled out a grainy old large phone. I dialed a number, holding it against his helmet, where his ear would be. "Hola, hermano! Necesito tu ayuda una vez más. Tenemos que luchar contra el purgers y aunar fuerzas con otros. Que te vas? Capitol! Traiga a toda la familia!"
