Before I say anything, let me just explain that this is a light-hearted, inspirational rp that I by no means am trying to disrespect those that are actually in situations like this with. This is a romanticized version of an actual disease real people have to deal with. My heart goes out to those people.
I was just thinking a rp showcasing what bored teenagers who have nothing to do and everything to do at the same time while stuck in a hospital with an incurable disease would spend their time doing. Pranking the nurse on duty? Why not. Daring each other to taste the questionable-looking "dessert" served with lunch? We're dying anyway, so even if it kills you it's no big deal.
But I also wanted to explore the more personal side of it too. If you didn't know if you were going to live to see the next day, how would you make the most of life? Could you find yourself falling for someone with little guarantee you'll see each other the next day? How would you live in a setting where people are just focused on keeping you breathing rather than helping you live?
The disease is a watered-down version of cystic fibrosis with patients who have it getting weak immune systems and breathing problems. And it's incurable by modern medicine. But there is a slight chance of survival if a patient can get a matching lung transplant and get rid of the infected lung.
A little romance is good, but it won't be the driving plot.
I'd love it if interested people be semi-lit and reasonably responsive. Pm me if you're interested.
