Going to rant just a wee bit here.
I've made this post before. Maybe I smell or something. I don't bloody know.
If you are bored with an RP, or just are not interested, any variations of that...
SAY SOMETHING!
I've found there's a bit of a problem with people just..abandoning RPs.
Now, I know life happens. Believe me, I do. Sometimes, you just don't feel like replying for a day or two, or can't. That's fine. But when you're replying to forum topics, or starting new ones looking for RP when you haven't replied in a while, it's a pretty good indication that you're no longer interested.
PLEASE be considerate of your fellow Roleplayer, and say something. Don't just leave them and their characters hanging.
This has happened to myself and others several times, and I doubt it will be the last, just trying to put out a friendly reminder, so we can all continue to enjoy the site without frustration.
Happy Roleplaying!

It also may be the fact of writers block.
I find when I have writers block, sometimes starting a new rp gets me going enough to reply to older rps,
that I'm having massive trouble thinking of anything for.
Maybe that's just me though.
EDIT: Oh yeah, also, never be afraid to PM and ask what's going on.
I tend to end up deleting more messages than I mean to sometimes, getting rid of all the
old replies, then thinking I replied to the rp recently, wait for the person to reply,
and finding out waaaay later that I didn't reply to their last post and accidentally deleted it.

Which is understandable. I deal with it a lot myself. But I'm referring to when they just ignore you completely. For weeks. When I'm blocked, I at least message people and let them know that it's hectic, and my brain is fried, or whatever the case may be.
Like, you send a message asking if they still wanna rp or what's going on and they don't reply at all?
Yeah, exactly. I understand that people aren't on everyday, as well. But if I send a message, and for a week, said person just doesn't respond, but does this this and this, it's a pretty frustrating situation, especially when the RP was a pivotal one for the characters involved.
Oh yeah, that's a bit frustrating.
I have to admit I'm guilty of deleting characters on here out of nowhere.
But as I've said before on another thread, just pm me about it.
It's usually because I want space for new characters, but the character still exists, just no profile on here. Doesn't mean I'm not willing to continue the rp or start up a new one.
I've had people completely disappear, but then it doesn't bother me as much as being ignored.
I understand things can happen, internet disconnected, health issues, ect.
But being ignored kinda hurts.
Sorry you had to go through that.

I'm terrible with keeping up with RPs. My subscriptions on the site are a bit messy and I don't have a way to prioritize topics in some way, so when I get 1-2 new pages of notifications a day (not including topic replies from people who RP where I'm not involved, I turned those off) I just can't keep always track.
My PM inbox is also huge. I sent out PMs often that aren't RP or social related, which means that after I read a PM I can forget to reply to it because other stuff takes priority. It doesn't help that our current system doesn't thread conversations in PMs either, so I tend to have to dig for stuff.
In the meantime I can often be found making quick replies to topics or taking a breather by working on things/showing stuff I made off between the happenings in my life.
Being ignored is quite annoying and even awful at times, but I always try to assume someone just forgot or hasn't had time yet to get back to you. If you're visibly upset and sound annoyed at someone, they will likely avoid you even more because they're afraid of the backlash. And that makes the situation more complex and difficult to deal with!

I feel like this article is worth of linking to in this topic. It has brilliant tips and explanations that have been useful to me and other people I know in many situations.
