I am currently posting here in RP discussion because I am unsure about how to turn this into a full RP at this current time. So I'd like people to discuss with me about the possibility of this idea. Once it turns into a true RP idea that is fully bloomed. Then I'll repost this at looking for RP. But until then I would extremely enjoy the idea of people discussing and questioning my ideas so it can be pushed into a very interesting RP for anyone who joins. So please do ask questions and do not be shy about such
So I've come with with an idea a long time ago. The idea is called BranchWood Academy it'll actually be a story I'll be making eventually. The old version of the story had to get cut and changed due to my friend who was initially helping me with it bailed out. So my question for everyone here on RP Repository is would you be interested in BranchWood Academy.
BranchWood Academy is a place of militaristic power where they accept only 500 people into a six year program that'll train them into warriors. Now my true question is who would be interested in taking a trip through the history and on side of BranchWood Academy and the individuals who are currently enrolled in the story. This will be an actual RP that'll go through the history of BranchWood Academy. Do not worry I won't be using anyone's characters who are in this RP in the story. I personally just want to put the story out there in a very unique way. Plus I think it'll help me advance the plot and I think it could bring a very unique story to the RpR community.
BranchWood Academy accepts anyone from the age of 16 - 19 as first year students who than, would enter the six year program. They evaluate people on Strength, Agility, Intelligence as small basics. Then they move into more advanced categories like Melee Skill, Magical Skill, Ranged Skill. Then Team Work, Problem Solving, Leadership. The next categories are Performance without stress, Performance without a Plan and Performance under extreme pressure.
The overall Score is out of 120 with different ranks for each type of score. If you wish to join this RP idea please do the following below in your post.

I guess my first question/assumption would be that this is along the lines of Medieval setting?
Also, as far as Branchwood Academy goes, why are they looking for 16-19 year olds to train to fight? Is there a war coming? Or is it to give status to the village/city/country that holds Branchwood Academy? For the youth who joins, (I'm assuming they take girls as well as boys?) is there a reason to do so--do they get a job in the army afterwards? Or are they paid once they complete training?
Sorry for all the questions--just thought I'd throw them out there for you.
I would probably have to make a character since my medieval characters are currently occupied elsewhere (and too old for such an endeavor).
(And since dice notoriously hate me...and apparently I can only roll 9 out of the 12 slots...here goes.)
When I rolled the last three choices--it's fairly fitting:
7
1
6

I agree with Pen, I'd be very interested to know why this academy exists and what a character's motivation for joining might be.
First I must add dice rolls aren't necessarily used for that. It's just a template for your character to be set within BranchWood Academy's rank system. It's set to allow the individual to choose how your character truly is. The system itself is impossible to gain perfect scores due to its set pieces. Most people score around 80 - 90 maybe a bit higher. It's tough to say. But normally that's the good range obviously though. You want it to be as close to them as realistically possible.
Honestly BranchWood Academy itself doesn't have a set time Era. Due to the fact that I took pieces of all Eras and mixed them into one when creating BranchWood Academy. It's only truly set within a fantasy realm and that's all I can say for the most part without going into the whole ordeal about each part of the century of the world I created.
The individuals of BranchWood Academy are taken at a young age to turn them into full fledged warriors which are individually sent to different places all over the world to preserve peace. Although not everyone takes this path. Individuals who have graduated have been known to become great criminals as well. Now when it comes to war and all things BranchWood Academy was created not the midst of a war itself. Back with the single man who founded head of the BranchWood family.
This man had the regards to create individuals who can take his teaching from one of the highest quality and ranking families of all times. He hated what wars would do to individuals how it would change tthe lives of others. So this man went to the front lines of this very war to portray his work. Show what he was capable of show that his trainees would have promise to serve to protect the peace.
Unfortunately the man died at the front lines leaving a lot of talk about this BranchWood Academy. But, his death sparked the beginning of the so called historical BranchWood Academy. So the individuals who go to BranchWood Academy do not have to pay. Only to take their unique entrance exam and all the training they get is on their time.
Unfortunately for the individuals there. You don't receive money by taking on missions or anything. You get small portions. You get the advanced training of legends also you get to stay there for free. With BranchWood Academy being so popular and only accepting so many individualsat a time. A lot of tthem are rejected which is where the surplus of cash flow comes into BranchWood Academy.
BranchWood Academy is also considered an inner sanctum for all individuals. There is no one they reject so long as you pass their exam to enter BranchWood Academy itself.
The finalized idea is the individuals who join at ages 16-19 are the first years of BranchWood Academy out of a six year program to change an individual into a full fledged warrior worth the finest of recognition. It's safe to say BranchWood Academy is some of the most elite when it comes to being well trained. They have individuals who are known world wide who teach at the school.
As for any more questions I'm all for answering them. Hopefully I didn't drift when answering any of them. Also if you wish me to go more in depth with something just ask.

That sounds like really interesting RP, I would love to join the RP, when ready.
Were you thinking just humans, or elves, trolls, anthros, or gifted sort of characters?
Were you thinking just humans, or elves, trolls, anthros, or gifted sort of characters?
Well going by BranchWood Academy's original origin it had started with just humanoid figures. But, with recent years BranchWood has begun to accept individuals of different races. So you can have all the different kinds of races in BranchWood. Except considering your still fairly new to the campus and the Academy there probably will be more humans then other races at this current time. But that would allow any player to be trolls, or orcs, anthros, elves and so on.
