I JUST realized that these numbers are ripped from the bottom of specifically this letter.

So--I'm preeeetty sure this code will be giving us our answer, given its proximity to this letter about these characters...

I've been wondering if anyone would notice that was the same tear line!

Okay... Taking the first number in the pair to be line number, and second to be letter number... t r f a e e i v a n t l. Which, when shifted 5, is just as ugly.

All the numbers in question are under 20. Dunno if that means anything, but there ya go.

It doesn't look like A1Z26, since the numbers are in pairs...

Hrm, maybe if you put all their notes in order, the first number refers to a note and the second refers to the letter. I'm not even sure if they have that many correspondences.

"h m c f c c h o i c e g g h e h c e h g d m j j" is what you get if you do A1Z26. I see "choice," but... I think that's coincidence...

So I'm thinking the second clue definitely refers to that two-part letter. The third... What allows a second chance... Maybe that's the letter you gotta apply the pick-and-choose to?

One of the pairs is 7-8, and there's a letter from Usim on July 8. (the first one, I believe.)
