Matt watched in surprise as an officer announced the Doreen was under arrest. When Marie tried to interfere, she was arrested too, by a woman dressed in what appeared to be a scouting uniform. He turned to Trevor and said, "Dude, somebody stole our idea to have Marie and Doreen arrested! Saves us a little money, I guess. I wonder who it was."
He continued watching as the girls were handcuffed and led away towards the jail cell. "I hear the local zoo has opened a new cheerleader exhibit. Want to go check it out, or should we stick around here?"

"No, best not to taunt those two," Trevor replied. "We can see them fine from here. I don't want to make trouble for Short Stuff and Starla. Not only can we save a bit of cash, but now we don't have to worry about being blamed for it. It looks like that problem solved itself."
Trevor turned back to the tank as a woman approached and wanted to have a go at dunking Tabby.

Meanwhile, things had slowed down a bit at the dunk tank. "Step right up folks," Karen said to the passersby. "Come dunk a cheerleader! Only 3 tickets for 3 balls and 3 chances! Help the Teal Cove High Roaring Raptors Cheer boosters!"
"This looks like fun." Natalie had seen a sign for the fair while she was on her lunch break from work and decided to pop down and check it out. "Mind if I have a go?" She gives Karen three tickets that she had picked up at the entrance to the fair.
"Sure," Karen replied gesturing to the tank. Karen took her tickets and deposited them in the jar. She then took 3 balls from the box and handed them to the woman and directed her to the line. "Just hit that target. If you put her in the tank before your third try, she can scamper back up there so you can try to get her more than once."
OOC: Break your shots into 3 posts. For your first one, enter the 1 in the first box for the dice, select 20 for the second box (die type), and do not add anything to the third box before hitting reply on your roll. I'll give the results of your first shot in my follow-up post and then you can take your second shot following the same steps.
"Alright." Lining herself up, Natalie takes the first shot.
rolled 1d6 and got a natural 5.
Note: First shot
The dark-haired woman took the ball and made her first shot. It was close but didn't quite strike the target. "Not bad," Karen said. "Give it another go."
"Alright then. Let's try that again." Natalie takes her second shot.

Marie's eyes went wide when she saw the guy that had been staring at her earlier at the dunk tank was in the jail cell. Had he set this up so she'd be forced to talk to him? Damn it, where the hell is Pete?
Once the judge "sentenced" her, and the handcuffs were removed, Marie joined Doreen and the guy in the cell. The girl playing the guitar seemed to know him. Had she been the on this and taken out the warrant for him?
As soon as the door to the jail was shut Marie turned to him. "So, who the hell are you anyway," She demanded.

"Some of us do. And the name's not 'White-Tail', it's Doreen." After she said it, she wondered whether it had been a good idea to give this guy her name. Maybe not, but she didn't want him calling her White-Tail either. Of course, just because he knew her name now didn't necessarily mean he was going to stop calling her White-Tail. But really, she hadn't been thinking much about whether she should give him her name; she'd been more focused on how to respond to his comment about the cheerleaders having boyfriends. She got the feeling he was fishing for information, trying to find out whether she had one. She didn't want to give that information away, and so had left her response ambiguous in that respect. Maybe to distract him from that topic, she added, "And your throwing wasn't the worst I've seen today." She was still a little irritated at having to chase down that ball that Tabby's dweeb friend had inadvertently heaved into the parking lot.
A minute later Marie was put in the cell, and as Doreen had expected, she reacted badly to the guy's presence. "By the way, I told him you're already seeing someone," Doreen said, figuring Marie should know.

Joey could see by Marie’s expression and hear in her voice that he was an irritant to her. He leaned back and put his hands up in front of him and looked her in the eye for a moment as he took in the dynamic between the two friends for a split-second. He turned back to Doreen as he held up his index finger to Marie letting her know he would get to answering her question shortly. Doreen was actually kind of polite even if it was in a distant way. He got it. He wasn’t from the more affluent part of town that was in the Teal Cove High school district.
“My pleasure meeting you Doreen...I’m Joey...” he said, keeping his eyes on hers for a moment as he took a breath and turned to Marie who was holding her attitude and had’nt sat down yet. Doreen then informed her that she let him know that she had a boyfriend. He obviously wasn’t being very attentive to her so far this day. He also sort of picked up the vibe that Doreen was Marie’s ‘wingman’ who sort of looked out for her? He was only guessing based on their interactions.
“... Joey Lenocotta is who the hell I am. Why you ask... Marie is it?” he added. He had only overheard from a distance Doreen say her name by the dunktank so he wasn’t exactly sure until he heard the name again when the warrant was checked by the bailiff.
Turning his attention back to Doreen, Joey continued... “ ... and yeah... I shouldn’t assume the cheerleader stereotype. Everyone as individuals have their own stories....” He knew about stereotyping. It happened a lot to people from the poorer, rougher part of town. He gave Doreen a slight yet sincere smile before looking back to Marie to say, “Anyway, first time in the ‘clink’ for you... both?” He turned his head at the end back toward Doreen as he thought it more likely he would get an answer from her.

"Okay, one more. Take a deep breath," Karen encouraged. "You can do it!' Of course, the Cheerleading coach had done horribly with her 3 throws she took a few minutes ago. Although the woman hadn't hit the target, she had been relatively close with both of her tries.

A cop with a plastic badge and silly foam hat led Emily in handcuffs to the jail cell. She'd come to the fair alone, and she didn't know who'd put out the arrest warrant on her. The lady playing the judge sentenced her to ten minutes in the cell unless someone payed a dollar to bail her out early. There was no one to pay it unless some stranger came along and decided to bail her out on a whim, so she figured she'd spend the full ten minutes incarcerated. The bailiff checked in her purse and the stuffed koala she'd won earlier. As he removed the cuffs and opened the cell door to admit her, she was already listening to the conversation going on within the cell.
"Not my first time. I've been caged several times before," she said. She appeared to sniff the air a couple of times, looked in Joey's direction, and said, "Ah, you must be the source of...well, never mind. It's not important." She walked over to the least shady corner of the cell where she'd be mostly out of the others' way and took a seat on the floor. "Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt your conversation." She crossed her legs, assuming a lotus position, closed her eyes, and let the sun bathe her in warmth.

When a newly incarcerated woman got escorted into the cell, Joey gave her a nod and a smile as she addressed him.
“...source of the good Smoke? You should try a toke... “Joey said to the newcomer to the cell. He didn’t have any on him, but hoped to catch up to the musician after he got out. She was ‘holding’ his stash along with his rat.
Emily opened her eyes and gave Joey a friendly smile. "Thanks, that's very generous of you! But I'm going to decline; it's not really my thing." Joey's comment made Emily suddenly start wondering if maybe she should give it a try at some point. She considered the possibility that it might actually help her condition; she could see how it might. But she could also see the possibility that it would make it dangerously worse. She'd be willing to try, but not here at the fair. She'd want to do it when she was somewhere where it was legal, and with certain safeguards in place in case she lost control.
"By the way, are you sure you should discuss it so openly? I mean, you don't really know me; for all you know, I might be a cop."
"By the way, are you sure you should discuss it so openly? I mean, you don't really know me; for all you know, I might be a cop."
Joey shrugged as he listened to the woman sitting in the corner. "Probably not... " he answered. "I don't have any anyway. As for being a cop, well, anybody could be a cop I suppose..." He added before he he leaned toward the maybe-cop and put his hand up by the side of his mouth to say in a low voice with a heavy Italian accent and Godfather-like wheeze...... "Whatchainfor?"
He then gave Marie a passing glance before settling his gaze on Doreen. He was indeed curious about her and wondered what sort of person she was when not in the company of the topcat Marie. He pondered the number two for a moment, but when Neidermeyer junior came to stand by the 'cell', Joey was debating starting some trouble with him in hopes of getting five minutes more in lockup. He didn't expect the musician to actually show up and bail him out, but this was kind of fun hanging here.
He stood up and approached the uniformed kid, but changed tactic and turned and called out, "Hey Judge... um your Honor... how much to slap an extra consecutive ten minute sentence on this attitude queen here?" He turned and held his hand out toward Marie, giving her an exaggerated wide-eyed look doing his best impersonation of a bug before turning back to ask... "A buck?"

Doreen was about to indignantly tell this guy that she'd never been arrested before, for real or otherwise, but there was no need; Marie answered for them both. His reply to Marie revealed that he had in fact been locked up before, for real. As if being locked up with an actual criminal wasn't bad enough, about that time another woman was put into the cell who claimed to have been locked up several times before. "For real? What for?" Doreen asked the woman, a note of anger entering her voice. It was upsetting that she and Marie were stuck in this cell with these bad elements.
For a couple of moments it seemed like the guy lost interest in Marie and her as he was distracted by the other villain. Doreen was starting to get her hopes up, but then Joey did something unexpected: he tried to get more time added to Marie's sentence. Doreen nearly panicked; there was no way she was going to let Marie spend time locked in this cell by herself with those two criminals. "Hey! You can't do that!" She yelled desperately. "That's like double jeopardy! If you're gonna pay to make one of us stay extra, then you have to pay for both of us, and that'll cost twice as much!" Maybe it was a silly argument, but she had to do something, and she hoped this guy couldn't afford very much.

Joey busted up laughing as Doreen finished her diatribe. “Guess there is no separating you two is there.” He said with a shrug.
He was getting close to finishing his ten minutes, and Doreen would have finished hers a couple minutes later. His plan was to keep Marie locked up another ten minutes so he could maybe have a word with Doreen while she was not in Marie’s shadow. She is quite the loyal wingman.
“She means a lot to you doesn’t she... ok... for you ... since I see she means a lot to you... I won’t.” Joey said as he looked at Doreen with a smile before looking over to Marie. “You have a loyal number two here....”

Jessica had considered going to the car park and put her Guitar away, but it was too hot and the heat would mess with the tuning and possibly warp the fretboard, so she just mingled around the fairground, stopping at a cart to buy some deep-fried mozzarella cheesesticks.
After she finished, she meandered around and found herself approaching that dunk tank again. It looked like the cheerleaders had gone and it looked like a teacher or a coach was touting the event now. The poor redheaded girl in the pink bikini was still on the plank!
Jess fished out her last three tickets and held them out to the older lady with the microphone. “Here. I’ll try to get the girl wet again...” Jess said as she set down her guitar case and took her first ball to throw...
Her pitch hit just to the right of dead-center.... knocking the button in...

Emily smiled at Joey. "Don't worry, I'm not a cop," she said, though he didn't seem the least bit concerned whether she was or not. "Your secret's safe with me."
"What am I in for? That's a good question. I don't know who put me here or why. I came to the fair alone, and I don't know anybody in this town. I won a bet with someone at one of the attractions earler, and I suspect he might have done it. He accused me of cheating."
In response to the question from the girl in white, she said, "Yes, for real. Once for being human. Once for being inhuman. Once for trespassing."

Marie had been staring through the bars hoping another of the squad members would see their predicament and bail them out. So far, no one had come by that she recognized. That might be a blessing in disguise. Damn it, where was Pete?
