At one of the magic academies in Tyrian, there was tutors to help students falling behind in class and you were one of those tutors and you were assigned to one of the students that was in the advanced class but never went to class, so when the time came for you to tutor this kid you saw how young he looked but it didn't matter this kid needed to get tutored to pass or he would fail and be kicked out of school
Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Modern
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Some romance is possible, but the overall plot is more important.
