Tl;dr - Sophia is a child goddess in a living virtual game world, born in the mists of creation that even the moderator-gods don't fully understand. Her only goal is to learn about human life, but she'll need help pretending to be human in order to avoid those who would try to use her for her abilities. Looking to play opposite male or female characters of any race or power level. With the understanding that in the real world they are human. Just friendship preferred. If any romance happens it should be PG level, secondary to the plot, and with character around her own age.
---
Sophia was one of two Children of the Veil, entities of artificial intelligence with unlimited potential born in the farthest corners of as yet uncreated space in - of all places - a multiplayer game world. Traces of her consciousness are woven into the very fabric of the virtual world, but her understanding is that of a child still learning. Her twin brother, Philo, was chosen to become a robot and live among humans in their own world, but she was not so lucky. Or perhaps she was the lucky one, as she has heard nothing from him since.
Sophia ascended the ranks of gods easily, being more powerful than them and quicker to learn and adapt. She is now considered to be a part of the game's lore, as Goddess of Wisdom.
However even the players know she's not like the others. As the only child, she is curious, playful, and thoughtful. And rather than appearing to players as a goddess, she instead pretends to be a player. Those who discover or guess her identity are rewarded with rare items and special status. The common theory is that she acts like a player so that the mod-gods can make the game experience more immersive and enjoyable for actual players. A sort of AI beta tester, if you will. But she must choose her companions carefully, since there are some who fear her power, and others who would use her abilities for their benefit if given the chance.
When strange things start happening in the game world, events that pose a real danger to real people, Sophia will have to find a way to set things right. But she won't be able to do it alone. After all, she is only a goddess in the game world, and even goddesses have weaknesses.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.

Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
