It has been a goal of mine to start a tea-drinking guild, where the finest of teas and other drinks are sampled amongst pleasant company. A guild is also a house, for those that wish to stay, but cannot fit too many, as the building is small, compared to other guilds. Through play, others may get to know others, and there is no stress, or, should be none. This guild, that I have dreamnt of, will not care who is who, as most are able to talk in the common tongue, nor will this guild bear over the member's shoulder, keeping them within the building itself. It cannot house everyone, after all.
I imagine the front door opening into an elongated room, a large table to be decorated as is fit, with chairs for each member, or, hopefully, as many as are needed. This is the main setting, a place where it is easy to gather and chat between those that live nearby, and those that come in from distant lands. What tales they may have, for the other members! Further along the right wall, I believe there will be the door to the kitchen, as there must be a place to create the food and drinks that are to be served, and along the left wall, just across from the kitchen door, is the bedroom. Perhaps, with a little funding, there could be more than one bed!
Of course, there may be other activities to do, besides sitting and having pleasant meals. There must be fund raising, whether it be hosting dances, being hired as musicians or entertainers, or perhaps even women and men of arms, should there be those that are capable of such things. Traveling around is not all that bad, if it is in good company. I cannot imagine those that would be willing to share in the pay and tales of adventure! It is mandatory, meeting others, as others are the guild's dearest.
But this is just an idea, nothing more. It would be pleasant to hear from others, upon what they think.

This was very entertaining, but what I had wished to discuss was the idea of a tea guild, a chance to connect characters freely and within a simple and social environment. Since the location of the thread will center around a building, the prior happenstances that occur will not affect those that wish to join, at all. This creates an easy entrance and exit roleplay, as both can be achieved by walking in and out of the building. Should someone wish to return to the roleplay, they are more than welcome to arrive at a new day, or at the current time of the roleplay.
The roleplay aspect would be centered around social interactions between the guests and fine food, and the exchanging of culture and information. The time zone would be the medieval era, but can influence the future roleplays (see the benefits section). All races and all genders will be welcome to visit, but only those that wish to become members of the tea guild will become members, through in-character dialogue and actions. The hostess reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, and some words may be for more mature audiences. A posting order would not be required, should there be only social interactions between two characters. Should more characters be involved in a scene, then it would be polite to wait for others.
The benefits of being a member of the tea guild would amount to the possible assistance of other guild members in other stories, more social associations between characters, information on any game that the other members wish to start, a pool of characters that could fill those games, and the ability to join in tea guild specific adventures or even the possibility of learning popular dice rolling systems (Dungeons and Dragons 3.5-Pathinder, and other games that could be transformed into a forum adventure). For futuristic games, those characters that join the tea guild and are still alive in the future can certainly join joinable games, should the "main base" receive a stylish instant message, or hologram, or some other creative method of contact.
