Pela (played by Riik)

N9cl5on.png

You've fallen down a hole in the ground... and now, you've awoken in a mysterious tower. Is it real or is it just a dream? And what is this magical world that awaits you?

Will you stick around with the tower's quirky residents? Or adventure through the weird and wondrous world beyond? Either way could very much provide a lead to a way to return home.

READ FIRST:

Players aged 16+ are required. This is a personal preference due to the age gap there would otherwise be.

This is a multi-paragraph RP. If you feel you can't maintain a pace of about 2 paragraphs average per post, this might not be for you. Also, expect long posts from me early on - don't feel obligated to keep up with them and don't expect them to persist throughout; it'd be mostly due to me setting the scene.

Featuring:

Pela

This strange sorcerer's familiar is fuelled by the magicks of the cosmos. Friendly and helpful, she is an excellent conduit between your character and the world they have found themselves within. (See profile for more details)

Andre

A dashing young sorcerer in his early 20s, Andre is owner of the tower and master of all that exists within. Despite having an aristocratic dress sense and a strong understanding of upper-class etiquette, he seems to have an unusual phobia of the magical world outside of the tower and is hesitant to let any of the other residents leave. So engrossed he is in his academic work that he comes across as anti-social at times.

Emily

Andre's 10-year-old sister. Though she is fond of books, she is no typical bookworm. Adventurous and rambunctious, she clearly does not belong locked up in a tower with her overprotective big brother. She has a particularly large wardrobe of a vast variety of outfits of varying styles and it is often pot luck which outfit she emerges with on a given day. Though her brother wishes her to be his apprentice, she does not see herself as one. In fact, she sees herself as a boss figure, given with her brother so often shut away working on new spells, she is often left in charge of looking after the tower.

Butler

A tall humanoid shadow being who wears a top-hat, Butler is one of the magical beings who live within Andre's tower. Though he is mute, he seems to somehow find a way to co-ordinate the other magical creatures who serve as Andre's staff. Butler also doubles up as Emily's nanny, making sure she is dressed and fed and generally where she is supposed to be. At times, it also means serving as her direct subordinate whenever Emily deems to take charge of the tower.

Also Introducing:

Vaaza

Vaaza is a demon bound to Andre's command. Neither Andre nor Vaaza like to talk about how their arrangement came to be; and they clearly hate each other. Vaaza acts as the tower's overzealous guard - though her bark is worse than her bite. She may threaten someone with violent acts she wants to perform on them, but is bound by the specificities of her orders. Vaaza has a soft-spot for Emily. As much as she pretends to loathe following Emily's orders, the fact that she follows them despite the fact that doing so is not stated in her contract is a sign of having rather different feelings.

George

George is a wolfman whose large muscular body and terrifyingly huge teeth create an intimidating image. The fact is, however, that he is a total softy and is more interested in his role as the tower's chef than he is in fighting. George is a surprisingly good cook and has an unexpectedly delicate touch behind the kitchen counter. He practically lives for praise over his creations.

Boglig

Boglig is an unexpectedly adorable-looking goblin. And he hates that fact. He also loathes how much Emily likes to dress him up in cute costumes, especially given that he knows how much Andre would punish him if he was to hurt her. Boglig is grumpy and drinks just enough that he's technically not an alcoholic, but is the second-most-likely to raid the wine cellar (after Vaaza, naturally). Boglig is a tailor and painter, both tasks of which he is incredibly skilled at. And he hates that too. He also hates his cowardly reactions in the face of danger. His greatest wish is to be more goblin-like: hideous, aggressive and not at all artistic.

Lina

Lina is an unusually butch pixie who is not afraid of using blunt or crass language. She has a knack for mathematics and planning and makes a great engineer. Despite being a few inches tall, she is surprisingly strong and can comfortably lift all the tools needed to see to any repairs that the tower needs. She often gets Butler to help her if she needs an extra pair of hands.

Bones

Bones is a skeleton. He is also the tower's nurse and counsellor. And he gives a surprisingly good massage. Bones might be fearsome to behold, but he is also surprisingly fragile, and it doesn't take that much to make him collapse into a pile of loose bones. It takes him only a few seconds to re-assemble himself, however.

Cinders

Cinders is a hygiene-obsessed non-binary fairy dragon. Identifiable by their rainbow-coloured butterfly wings, the three-foot-long dragon (not including the tail) is rarely seen without a broom or mop. Though they cannot speak, one can always be sure to hear an exasperated growl or screech upon filling the halls with muddy footprints. Despite the name, Cinders' fire breath is actually severely limited and is no more deadly than a lighter. Which they are often used for in those rare breaks between obsessively cleaning the tower.

So... here's me looking to revitalise my RP motivation through the use of my newest RP character - Pela - and a fun supporting cast that I feel would fit well around her in this sort of themed scenario. Slice-of-life could very much take a key part in this one, unless of course not much time is spent at the tower. In which case, I do have a fun and playful idea in mind for the fantasy world surrounding it. It is very Wonderland in the sense of it being weird and quirky, but at the same time also rooted in more traditional fantasy and fairy tale themes. It's basically a world where you could just as easily wander into a candy forest as you might bump into a witch who wants to fatten and eat you or come across a necromancer raising an army of undead.

The tower itself is a little more grounded to a specific tone in its themes and is somewhere between Beauty and the Beast, sitcom and fantasy anime.

There will not be romance in this RP and full-on combat will not really exist in the tower itself, though might start to appear more often when adventuring beyond (though many of the scenarios I've thought up so far are a lot more open to other means of resolution).
Magic 80%
Magic is common.
Technology 30%
Renaissance
Combat 40%
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Romance 10%
Romantic themes are possible, but won't pan out. For example: unrequited love.

Details: Freeform, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played one-on-one.

Interested!
This sounds really cool! I'm interested in doing an RP with you, if you're still open.
