Direct to a representative.. He didn't like the idea and instead changed the course of conversation enough to where he'd have more time to observe. Maybe it'd stick around considering that she had expressed things quite well compared to others who tended to hide their thoughts. "What do you do?" his new found tenor voice echoed throughout the vacated lobby. He didn't care much for what she did. It only stalled.
"Um, well," She swallowed and spoke," I work in Graphic Design, making logos and designs for other businesses. I work mainly on personalized logos for small companies like local restaurants or bookstores. Are you interested in joining our company?"
Novella pulled her hair back and cool air hit the back of her neck. Her sweat cooled her hot skin. She sighed at the drop in temperature. Her lips felt numb and her tongue swollen. If only there was some water...

This was one of the few times the transverse had to make a decision. He remained silent as he thought it over. If anything, it could provide for research and it'd be easier to conform into a human's daily life.
"Yes, I am," he finalized as he looked back to the woman. "Where should I begin?"

Novella smiled and put her hands to her sides. That made more sense then before. He couldn't be THAT shady. She thought a moment and replied,"Well, you can pick up necessary paperwork from the front desk. The application process is pretty important. If it passes you can get an interview. I can show you where it is if you want."
He tilted his head, reading the facial expression she made. Apparently what he said made her.. Happy? Intently he stared until he brought his mind back to her question. "I do want that," from what he'd already picked up, he empathized the 'do'.
Good. That's good. Her first day went like this-awkward and clumsy. She understood much more clearly now. Novella stood up from the seat and extended her arm in the direction of the lift. The main desk was lower than the rest of the building, not including the basement. She smirked warmly and took a few steps. She glanced over her shoulder.
"Follow me, sir. I'll help in whatever way I can."
"Follow me, sir. I'll help in whatever way I can."
The transverse stood and followed initiative, catching the small smirk that played on her lips. His hand swept the the hair from his eyes, his first growing irritation of the century. The people lived and looked far different than he had remembered.. Now what are those things she wore on her face?
The female worker pressed the button. The lift was on the top floor, great. This would take some time. Novella looked back to see if the strange man was still following. Another business woman stood next to her, clutching her binder with a bewildered expression. Novella chuckled.
"Busy?"
"Yeah." Novella smiled at her answer and heard the lift ding. 5 more floors to go.

Of course Vague had to look over the woman and her expression that it found strange. He stored the image in the back of his mind for later use, in case he would need it somehow. Then his eyes darted back to Novella when she smiled and this time he tried to mimick her.
The doors to the lift slid open silently. As the two females stepped in, Novella saw the stranger smiling. She was curious as to why, but it probably wasn't important. She ran her fingers through her again and pulled them away as if it had burned her. This habit was pretty bad and she had to stop it. Novella pulled her hair into a messy bun and smooth the wrinkles in her vest. The man stepped inside and she pressed the button with the star.
His smile quickly vanished due to the arrival of more people, and he studied each one individually with equal curiosity. A few had on the same blank face. Others looked frustrated. Vague had also become self aware, stepping closer to Novella. It wasn't accustomed to being around so many humans at once.
Workers started to enter the lift suddenly. The stranger pushed up against her slightly. Novella wasn't too uncomfortable with it. It was always like this; there were no stairs in the building. Luckily, they were one of the first to push the button, so they would be out soon. The doors opened on the main floor and she squeezed through the crowd.
"Sorry. Excuse me."
Novella stumbled a bit before standing upright, adjusting her disheveled clothes. She breathed out and looked to make sure he was there.

Vague managed to swerve to safety, being at the edge of the door the second it opened. He allowed the flood of workers to come out before returning to Novella, maybe too close, but if he was he wasn't aware of it.
"Sorry about that. The lift gets crazy full during certain hours of the day."
She beckoned to the front desk. Novella had fun, but she would have to return to work eventually. "Here you go, sir. I'll be off then."
Novella looked back at the lift which was already heading far up. She groaned. A little wait wouldn't hurt. She turned back to the male. "I guess I'll be here a bit longer. Oh. I never got your name. Do you mind me asking?"

The transverse strode up to the front desk, picking up an application to look over though he spent more time translating the words than actually reading them, but that was cut short due to her question.
He didn't bother to make up a name since knew not of many. Usually he took the identity of renowned people whose names were highly familiar, "Vague." It was a strange name, but it fit the creature perfectly and that's what it had been known as since the beginning of time though very few people are enlightened about its existence.

"Vague?" She spoke quizzically. It was an odd name, but it fit the odd male. She smiled with a short nod before walking to the lift again. Novella looked over her shoulder after pressing the button. She laughed,"It was nice to meet you Vague. I wish you the best of luck."
The lift doors opened and the female stepped inside. She watched the male as the doors slid shut. Novella had a feeling she would see him again.

He hadn't said a word as she took her leave, instead he watched, his face puzzled at her phrase. The best of luck..? Yes, she would indeed see him soon and maybe too soon for her liking, but she wouldn't know that. He'd come with a much different approach.
((Sorry! I've been sidetracked with some stuff. You still want to continue?))
