Novella spotted Henry and waved towards the man. "Mister Henry!" She called out to him and plastered a fake smile on her face. "Did my request get accepted?" She practically hopped up and down. Her body bounced slightly in anticipation and anxiety of prolonging her seeing her cat.
Vague figured the name of the identity was Henry and he returned the smile, but not as excessive as hers looked to be. He walked across the street, still unaware of the hazards of not looking both ways as he approached her. He knew of no request, but it wasn't as if the transgender didn't know how to lie and formulate a story along with it. "Yes," he began, his voice trailing off a moment, "but I hope you can handle it. It wasn't easy."
"Of course, sir." She bowed slightly with a genuine smile. "I'll do my best. Have a nice day." Novella's anxiety washed away for a moment; she decided she should get a little treat to celebrate. She couldn't forget her cat, too. I'm sure Pangurban won't mind a bit of salmon. Novella waved a small goodbye as the Tram doors opened with a sharp 'ping'.
It smiled though it seemed forced, but either way it mattered. Henry said nothing in response when the doors had opened, still watching with intent as it did when it had first come to lay eyes on her. Every now and again there was an interval when no one's eyes had him in focus. With her back turned and the few other people distracted by their devices, the transverse abruptly changed its appearance, now a woman with shoulder length brown hair and an oblong face. Not a beauty though not enough to be labeled unappealing. Finding opportunity, it stepped in behind Novella with undecided intentions.
The Tram hummed a soft lullaby as it passed over the magnetic tracks. The car was filled with the song of people shuffling as they waited for their stop. Novella watched as powdery snow began to fall once more, drops steaming past her reflection. Her throat suddenly felt swollen and dry. Bumps covered her arms as the uneasy feeling engulfed the second time today. Her body was on alert.
Vague didn't leave the tram until she was four or five steps ahead before it trailed behind her. Unfortunately being in the form of a human did not exempt it from the cold either, however that was not the focus. Novella had proved to be trustworthy in the little time they had to chat and become acquainted. Surely Vague could follow her home and hone itself there without difficulty.
Novella slipped inside the store, glancing to see anything suspicious as she grabbed a small cut of salmon. She was briefly distracted by the selection of gelato, but eventually made her way to the Checkout with a tub of mocha goodness. She scanned her items and wrists and hurriedly walked to catch the next Tram home.
Along the way, the transverse had used five different appearances, following her all the while. With its skills, both eavesdropping and stalking was an easy task, however, it was much change for one day. Soon enough it would withdraw from all stolen faces and figures, and allow itself to become the blank unblemished canvas it had always been.
Novella exited the final Tram with a relieved smile. Four doorway panels later and she was seperating from her home by a sheet of thin, flexible metal. She pressed her hand to it, the door sliding open to reveal a sleeping feline. Pangurban lifted his head off of the fur rug with a yawn, revealing his sharp teeth. He blinked sleepily and she grinned at the flash of vibrant blue. Novella crinkled the package making the cat's ears perk. "I got you a present!"
This time when she proceeded Vague did not follow though it had stepped out the tram. Instead it watched as she found her home, it's facade finally falling to its sheer white appearance. Once it was cleared head to toe it followed her past movements sequentially, soon placing it's hand against the thin metal that was the only thing separating it from getting into her home.
Novella gently placed her hands on the marble-like counter, a bowl and plate forming beneath them. She deposited her feline's treat onto the plate which he heartily began gnawing. A smile grew on her lips as she scooped the gelato into the small bowl with ease. Her mouth watered at the scent of rich chocolate and coffee. She tucked the tub of gelato into the FreezeField and swallowed a mouthful of the creamy dessert. The taste was so genuine Novella could not tell it was synthetic dairy and artificial sweeteners.
The door had slid open as he pushed it over leisurely, the transverse not having the certain audacity to knock though the gesture was silent. Without sliding it shut, Vague stepped in and it could be told that he was giving the room a brief look over. It heard her in the kitchen, but didn't follow the sound and instead examined the room further. It's movements were especially silent, little to know sounds in its steps as it wandered the room.
(( Okies.))
Novella took her bowl of delight into the sitting area, settling down onto the long plush couch. Pangur's slurping could be heard in the kitchen and she chuckled softly. She activated her eye Screen and browsed her messages while keeping an eye on her nutrition stats. Her blood sugar was low, which was fine since she was ingesting plenty. She relaxed and switched over to the entertainment. Her ears filled with sound and her vision was obscured by an image of a animated scientist.

The transverse paused in the middle of it's trek to listen to the artificial sounds and it was led to leave the room to the kitchen where new items were found to toy with, however it's attention had been drawn to the organism down below. It was familiar, having been around for many years Vague knew well that it was a cat, but even so it hadn't seen one in so long. The transverse would take the time to study it again. With two long silent steps it approached the feline, knelt down, and swiped it up with no preconception of what it would do.
Pangurban yowled as he unleashed a flurry of flailing paws with no claws. He kicked his hind legs still equipping his sharp weapons, but his short limbs could not reach the white being. He hissed, ears peeling back and tail fluffed like a feather duster. Novella sat clueless as she intently watched her comedy. Her feline friend struggled to attack; he went with his last resort and sunk his teeth into the assailant's hand.
The cat may have struggled, but Vague held it firmly though not too firm to break it. While it continued to frail around, the transverse's hand took in the texture of the fur, but as the cat came to bite Vague froze. Because it was not stealing a face it's cells were not adjusted to pain, however it could still feel. For the moment it watched as the cat made assault after assault, Vague eventually becoming bored with the sight before it dropped the feline.
Its new interest was the television. That was new. Vague stood behind the sofa in which Novella sat, but not long until it made its way around to examine the screen further.

Novella's eyelids lightly flickered over her glassy vision. She inhaled a breath as she felt something brush her leg. She immediately calmed, believing it was her cat rubbing against her. She held out her open hand for him to stroke his head against her palm. She smiled at a dry joke and opened up a separate Screen to check her bank account. Her right eye was shiny with fluttering color and her left scribbled with text. She turned down the volume, listening for the sounds of her feline moving about.
The hand was disregarded, Vague brushing by it and leaning down to be eye level with the woman, or what would be eye level for the transverse who, at the moment, lacked any sort of vision with a blank canvas as a face. Of course this didn't mean it could not see. Somehow it was still able to analyze the miniscule screens, fluttering with color in one eye then black and white in the next.
Such an often intrigued creature scrutinized each detail from Novella's irises to the whites of her eyes and even the nearly invisible red veins that eventually disappeared once they'd reached further enough unto the center. Close proximity was clearly disregarded as though personal space was nonexistent. Nothing seemed to be existent besides the transverse and her eyes in its brief moment of study.

Novella felt something light brush her hand. It had to be Pangur. She smiled and patted her lap for her cat to sit. With her other hand she scooped another spoonful of gelato into her mouth with satisfaction. She skimmed over the text and removed the other screen as a commercial started up, focusing fully on the bank statements. Her account was fine as well as her invoices.
She pondered a moment. Why was she worrying about her money? The Council and Committee's would never let anything harm her in any way. Novella shouldn't worry about anything, right? She was safe. Yet, she felt uneasy. Something wasn't right. Novella did her best to shrug it off and shut down the Screen, starting to rise from the seat.

Having had its examination, Vague's focus drifted to other objects in the room, and it stood straight once more, however not as itself. Surely by now it had taken in the woman's every feature though what was under her clothes was nothing to be addressed. The majority of womens' parts were the same. Her figure works well enough. It'd even taken some of her dead skin cells that tumbled right onto it's.. skin? Either way, her identity was possessed. No longer did it belong to just her.
Novella's clone, per say, sauntered away from the couch and straight into the kitchen. Its destinations consisted of a fridge and everything within, most definitely the sink, and the dish washer. Though Vague had opened them it hadn't closed not one cabinet in it's wake. Everything was wide open and leaving the kitchen to feel like a small, cramped space.
