Novella immediately saw Pangur sprawled on the floor, fur puffed out and tail twitching. She squeezed her eyebrows together and bent down to meet his height. His multicolored eyes were wide, pupils blown wide. His fluffy tail smacked the floor with a thud.
"What's wrong Pangur?" Her voice was laced with concern as she lightly stroked his fur. He almost growled as he glared into the kitchen. Novella's blood suddenly grew cold. Was someone there? Novella believed that there was no way, but she could never be too sure. She slowly stood up and jumped as her feline friend dashed into the other room. Novella turned her attention back to the room she feared. A shiver snaked her way up her spine as she tiptoed slowly into the kitchen.

Every now and then a clink or a shift was heard in the kitchen, the occasional opening and closing of cabinets. Vague was doing what it did best and left a mess in its wake, having taken things from their rightful places like spices, cups, mugs, pots, pans. It was merely taking everything out and setting it for display on the counter tops, some dishes nearly toppling over the other.
In the very corner of its eye, her eye, the transverse, aware that it was using the face of Novella had quickly reverted to the man it once was. He was frozen in place, his eyes watching intently as she attempted to mutely approach. Had he something to say. No? He-it- had no excuse as to why it was in here house and if she asked he wouldn't answer.

Novella came face-to-face with the piercing-eyed male from before. She grabbed a knife from the nearby counter and wielded it, facing the tip of the blade at his throat. She tried to make her stance as threatening as possible, but her hands shook terribly. She swallowed despite her throat going suddenly dry. She squeaked out a "what are you doing here?" and a even more afraid " how did you get in here?" His gaze bore into her flesh, freckled with goosebumps and cold sweat. Her breath was heavy and ragged. Remain calm. Don't panic. But it was too late for that. She knew she was well on her way to a panic attack.
The knife earned a sudden response from the transverse, it's skin shifting white immediately as it's hand shot up to snatch her wrist. Even though it knew that it could not feel pain in its current form it didn't mean that a possible assault couldn't do damage. Healing itself could be possible as well, but it wasn't going to go through the hassle.
Its grasp was so hard that whatever shaking her hand was doing was diminished, but that wasn't what Vague anywhere near Vague's intentions. As it managed to stare her down without eyes its hand continued to tighten around her small wrist as if at some point it was going to crush it, but its only goal was to get her to drop the knife.

Novella dropped the knife and screamed in agony. She dug her long polished nails into the strange man's hand to pry him away from her throbbing wrist. His grip almost seemed to grow even more crushing. She cried out my in hopes of a neighbor hearing her plight. The blue-haired female knew it was in vain; the walls were soundproof since the building was steps away from the Tram. Her pupils shrunk as she watched the stranger - Vague he had called himself - pale into a smooth , creamy white being. It was nightmarish. Her mouth was open like a sewer grats, but no sound came put of the frightened girl. "What are you?"
Her voice bounced off the walls and vibrated into her hammering skull. She could her blood pumping through her and the heat flushed her skin. "Answer."

It wasn't until the transverse heard the thud and the clank following that it let go of her hand, possibly leaving a mark. The alabaster hand returned slowly and steadily as though it had much time to waste in which.. it did. By now Vague was as old as the Earth was studied to be and would be existent as long as the planet existed. Time was nothing it had to waste its musing on. Only people earned its attention, humans having changed each generation both for the better and for the worst. Vague was the only creature old enough to have record of it all, from the Stone age or even earlier than that to now. Perhaps God demanded the transverse come into existence on the 7th day of Earth's creation.
Her voice was suddenly becoming too much noise for Vague, and her demands were disregarded and ignored. It knew what she was asking. The same question all the others had when they encountered the transverse, but it pressed its lukewarm fingertips to her lips. A very gentle, delicate gesture that said: shut up.

The sudden movement shocked her. His- ITS fingers felt cool on her flushed skin. She flinched and hushed, frozen to her core. Her pulse drummed against her skin and she just stared in silence. She could only hear her beating heart.
Vague didn't have eyes but she could feel his gaze almost touching her.
"I...don't understand?" Novell was not the most clever girl, but she was not stupid either. She wasn't sure how this...thing communicated . However, she knew they were telling her to calm down and shut up. And she did just that. In all of her life she had never been in this sort of situation. She was at a lost. A daze almost.

Once it felt her stiffen under its fingers and her soft, plush lips had closed the transverse removed its hand, again, in an unhurried movement. It was the closest it had been to a human thus far and the view from such close proximity was intriguing. It could count each and every vein marring the whites of her eyes, and it had come to notice that she had no pupils whatsoever. The molecular pores in her skin were visible along with fallen eyelash that rested in the corner of her eye.
Vague was interrupted by her voice though this time it was more subtle and calm, but even so, its hand went right back to her lips to ensure silence. As it examined each peculiar detail it failed notice before it had grown more bold in its curiosity. The transverse's head angled down ever so slightly as its thumb brushed her lips before it tried to pry them open.

Novella felt its fingers leave her lips briefly then press up against them again. She blinked, her eyes feeling dry and heavy. The long fingers felt nothing like human fingers. They were chilled and soft like candle wax. The touch was foreign yet intoxicating. She leaned into the slim appendages; she took in a soft breath as it pressed harder into her mouth, slightly opening it. She whimpered and shook. Her emotions were conflicted between afraid and intrigued. The whole ordeal was strange, still , Novella found herself curious about it all and willing to see what would happen.
She obeyed and opened her mouth wider. She didn't have much choice honestly. There was no telling what it could do. It could kill her if it wanted. Probably. "Don't hurt me."

Being nothing more than a living figurine it was able to take in the things that humans usually fail to notice. With heart as muffled as Vague's it could feel her blood pulsating even through her lips and each breath gave way to her thoughts. No quivering. The applied pressure against its fingers was heavily noted, and when it seemed still the transverse froze rigid at the sound that emitted from her. It was a still that could easily pass it for a manikin.
Vague read again as he felt the idle tremble of her body, its fingers still waiting patiently at the edge of her mouth for her to comply. Its nonexistent eyes were scrutinizing. Perhaps she could feel the gaze that was expectant and anticipating, intrigued by her in return. As stated before, Vague had all the time in the world. It would wait as long as it had to, but it was her who was wasting each passing second.
Finally, she resumed to open up, her pearly whites not nearly as light as the transverse's skin, but that made them no less appealing. Again she spoke and Vague would've hushed her like it had two times prior, however this was no question, no demand. It was a request out of an imaginary fear. Vague wasn't known, if it were known at all, to kill or anything the like. Like a many animals it would sit idle until given reason to attack.
Vague gave no sign of ratification and its form seemed as though it had suddenly been brought to life again. It had nothing more than a general perspective of the human mouth, but it didn't know the texture, taste, smell.. It got more than enough of sound however. No doubt it would get to answering its own questions immediately and as far as it had seen humans didn't examine the mouth with fingers. Instead it had taken a route that would be more convenient on her behalf.. or so it thought. When it wasn't there merely a moment before it was there now, hardly able to tell apart from the remainder of its vacant face: a mouth. Yes, it was one that had been observed from another human though it took on no color. It only consisted of what Vague saw and nothing more.
Vague's head dipped down, yet it was still a bit too tall for convenience. It resolved to making itself a few inches shorter, taller than her only by three inches. Better. Now it dipped its head down and pressed its stolen, cool lips to hers. Now don't be fooled. This wasn't a kiss. Merely an observation of touch and taste. Vague adjusted slightly for a comfortable fit against against her mouth while its tongue, white; room temperature; and smooth, began to feel around beginning with her teeth.

Novella eyes flickered as the creature appeared to watch her. She felt it ply her mouth with fingers as it shifted closer to her face. She saw it approach her lips and form a mouth. It was fascinating the way it's face morphed and molded itself. The change was subtle but conscious. She wondered how its cells worked since it was so easily changing its appearance. She was lost as it pressed forward into her plush lips.
As it met her flesh the difference in temperature was apparent. Its skin felt lukewarm like tap water. Novella didn't even notice it was performing what she would call a "French kiss." Her body, however, was not welcoming. Sparks shot through her brain, alerting her of a foreign intrusion. It lasted seconds before the Screens pumped chemicals full of serotonin through her body. She felt a dreamy, floaty feeling rush through her. Her Screens pushed dopamine into her bloodstream, relaxing her further and taming the shock. To her brain, this translated as pleasure. She sighed contently and became limp in its grasp.

It's tongue exploited her cavern, stealing the solidity and cutting edges of her teeth before moving on to her gums. Smooth, well lubricated as everything else. Next it explored the under half of her tongue and found her frenulum, her glands then it moved on to the top of her tongue. It wasn't till then that Vague began to taste, and its tongue had too become subtly rough along the top, but even though it finally achieved taste it still hadn't stopped there. With the given ability it's new muscle stretched further back, caressing her hard pallet prior to her soft one.
Her warm breath fanned its cheek and Vague felt her grow lax, but as it reviewed over everything it's ghostly hands kept her head in place, even pressing her tighter against its own new found mouth though it merely lasted a moment. Having had the examination it desired Vague pulled back, its mouth fading and returning into nothingness while its hands returned to its sides.

The being explored her mouth, tongue painting a picture of pleasantry and lust for Novella. She could not remember the last bit of intimate contact she experienced, but boy did she miss it. It was probably her drugged brain causing her to feel this way, but she could care less. She twined her tongue with it for a moment. As it swept it's fleshy appendage over her teeth she wished she had brushed them. Maybe the mocha gelato was a nice taste for it as well. Just as she was melting into the heat of the moment, the being fleeted from her mouth and stood still. She gazed the being, completely starstruck and whipped. She had no idea what was going on, but Novella was spent. She looked it up and down; there was nothing but alabaster flesh. She had no clue who "Vague" was, but to her he was otherwordly and beyond comprehension. A million questions bubbled into her throat. Who are you? Why are you here? What has it got to with me?
A less appropriate word came from her swollen lips. "The hell?"
A less appropriate word came from her swollen lips. "The hell?"
Constrasting from her, Vague felt nothing. Not even a tinge of what she was feeling nor having any thoughts that she was thinking. It had obligations, but they were done with no remorse or affection whatsoever. The transverse didn't have a broad view of things and despite that it takes identities it had never conformed to the world no matter how much it changed. At times people had tried to extend its mind beyond the visual, to consider, to hate, to contemplate. No. It had never happened and most likely would never happen. Vague was Vague. It existed impervious and unaltered. Perhaps there was a secret or two to this, or maybe it was as simple as no one trying hard enough, but even if it was to change this cycle would end and another will begin. The transverse would return reset, empty, and vacant.
This time it didn't cut off whatever she was to say and stood straight, it's gaze running over her head to scan the room even though it had already taken examination of it for the most part. Speaking of which.. there was a hall. It hasn't been there yet. Now, Novella no longer the center of attention, it began towards the hall.

Speaking of which.. there was a hall. It hasn't been there yet. Now, Novella no longer the center of attention, it began towards the hall.
Novella was perturbed as the being stepped away and walked to the hall. Her face burned with equal embarrassment and anger. How could she let herself go so quickly? Novella tried to rationalize what had happened, but all the explanations were preposterous. She couldn't defend her actions. Her reactions were abnormal and she knew that. The council would get on to her, she knew they would. Abnormal behavior was unsafe. She chewed her lip at the thought of being a threat. Novella knew better than that and shook the conflicting emotions out of her clouded mind.
She gritted her teeth and then paled. Pangurban stood in the hall with a fluffy tail, a sign of being overly frightened. She would never forgive someone for harming her cat.
Novella called out to distract Vague,"H-hey! Vague, is it?"

Vague paid absolutely no mind to the insignificant mammal who was arching bristling in defense. The transverse's attraction to the cat had been long diminished, and it was set on inspecting the vicinity, however at the sound of its name it turned, it's nonexistent face towards Novella. It's pursuit wasn't yet quenched, but it waited.. Thirty seconds should be a long enough wait despite that Vague could afford to wait forever. Even so, it had an objective that it wanted to reach. At the moment she was being a distraction.
It wasn't quite sure.. Was she searching for an answer for that or was she simply being rhetorical?

"Can you talk, or communicate somehow? You are not answering my questions and I answered yours!" As he turned she swallowed a lump in her throat. Her blood ran cold. Novella could only distract him. She had to protect Pangurban, her only form of family. She slowly stepped towards the stark white being. She could feel it watching her and it made her heart beat rapidly.
"What are you?"
"What are you?"
There was a pregnant pause, as if it had tardily processed what she said and it made no efforts to move either. Small gestures led to the assumption that she was apprehensive as she threw out another question that it may or may not respond to. Vague didn't know what propelled this inquiry, but her attempted approach read that she was quite adamant. Humans were the earth's most perplexing beasts; creating laws and defying them; denying their natural partners when indeed a man's body was made for a woman and a woman's body was made for a man. They change excessively, abrasive and indecisive or avaricious, some more than others, but what separates them from other creatures is their desire to learn- to know why or why not.
It needn't any more examinations of the human body. It was the mind that was becoming a sparking interest. Her inquiry would be the ulterior motive until the transverse was content.
Upon it's untarnished face Vague brought forth a voice and was able to do so without lips and a peculiar shaped mouth that was hidden narrowly behind it's unblemished. Small holes, no bigger than pores kept the voice from being muffled. "Be specific," though any other human would narrow down the meaning Vague saw it to be general.

She stuttered and blew air from her lips, flustered. Novella scratched at the small hairs on the back of her neck, trying to find the right words. She flapped her mouth open like a fish and sputtered out nonsense. She took a breath and attempted to calm herself; still trying to grasp the situation fully, she put out her best effort. She spoke, albeit weakly," You aren't normal. The Council never explained this sort of situation to me. You're clearly not human, so what exactly are you? An alien? Aliens don't exist, right? That's crazy talk!"
She shook, hands almost vibrating with energy. "And...and even if you were, what purpose do you have coming here? This planet is suited for life sure, but you would need a reason to start life or have a reason to be watching and following me! Of all the people, me!" Novella paced back and forth, muttering to herself before freezing in her tracks. She turned to look at the being called Vague. "How did you...change like that?"
