Hello. If you are reading this, it's because your application has been processed, and accepted, as a result we would like to welcome you aboard. Here at Black Mesa, you'll be working with some of the most prestigious, and intelligent people on the planet, working towards the endless goals of scientific and technological advancement. Whether you be scientist, security worker, or somewhere in between, we welcome you to our ever growing company.

Effective immediately, please begin your travel to the Black Mesa Tram Station in Black Mesa, New Mexico. You will be taken into a reception, and given clearance to start work immediately. We look forward to meeting you, and a schedule will be created when you've spoken to a representative in-person.

An overwhelming sense of euphoria and anxiety washed over your body, as you exclaimed "YES!" at the top of your lungs. Adrenaline pumping, you frantically tell your friends and family about where you'll be working, some of which don't know what the hell you're talking about, and others gasp and cheer alongside you. Soon, you will begin your new life as an employee at Black Mesa.





Hello! I'm glad you've made it this far into the roleplay schema I have planned. Though I've tried to keep it a bit vague to keep a sense of mystery, the plot entails your original character's journey through the Black Mesa incident from Valve's hit game; Half-Life.

We're looking for a small group, no more than three or four people to start this adventure with, and we assure you, we won't just be telling the game's same story. All of your characters will be interwoven into a plot, that will blossom into something captivating, and badass as time goes on.

We intend on starting off with an introduction of the characters meeting each other on a normal day off, which will spiral into the events of the first game. The goals of your characters will change the story - do you intend to dig deeper into the questionable ethics of the Black Mesa research facility, or high-tail it the hell out as soon as you can? The group's efforts will change the way we present the story to you!

We have a dedicated "DM" who will be writing scenes, and continuing for the group who decides to join. We've decided to move away from dice rolls so that our characters may have some creative freedom, though rolling MAY be employed randomly if it fits the scenario.





We highly encourage character freedom here, and we will do our best to make sure you have as best of a time in our framework as possible. That being said, there are some things we expect you to know.

For starters, a good grasp of the Half-Life world is preferred but not required. The universe isn't exactly the most complicated, or even detailed in some aspects, so some liberties will be taken, such as the year the RP takes place in. (1998 in our framework)

We encourage you to try and apply, even if you aren't the most familiar, perhaps look up some gameplay footage to get an idea for the atmosphere. If you're interested in cracking into the Half-Life world this way, we welcome you to, and hope we can spin a good tale for your character.

This may go without saying, but we'd like everyone to be as kind to each other. Characters can hate each other all they want, but this should not bleed through out of character. I'd love for all of us to get along, and just write an awesome story together! As such, we won't allow discrimination or hate speech of any kind. We won't have a rigid ruleset, just please, use common sense.





As an employee of the Black Mesa research facility, you have a wide array of options to choose as your character. We've narrowed it down to three 'categories' for your character, though, seen below. Do not think of these as paths that are set in stone, they were made in an attempt to simplify some of the many options you have at your disposal for character choice!







As a scientist, the list of options you have at your disposal are limitless. You, out of character don't have to be a mega-genius, but your character can be! There's tons of options from Hazardous EnVironment suit specialist, to just a hard-studying scientist making robot arms, or something cool like that. Get wild, let your imagination run free!







Dressed in blue, and hard at work. The security officers of Black Mesa are in charge of making rounds, and protecting those around them. Typically, they have access to guard armories, and other security rooms that the scientists typically wouldn't, and have basic-to-moderate combat training!







Your role at Black Mesa isn't well defined - but that doesn't make you any less important! If you don't see an occupation on here that interests you, screw it, make your own! Interns.. Architects.. Or perhaps something plain unorthodox? This one applies to the bold, and outlandish ladies and gents out there. Custom jobs aren't hard to get - just discuss with me in PM what you want your character to do!
