Smile followed him in and observed the interior carefully. Although she was large and heavy, she made almost no sound. The hybrid was on high alert, obviously anxious by the tense posture she kept and the swishing of her tail.
She didn't like any bright lights from the corridor but remained posted at the door. "Where is the scientist?" It didn't look like the kind of facility she spent her life in, but there was a particular smell and atmosphere that reminded her of it.

Before the mercenary could muster a response the knob of the door clicked and he rapidly left his seat to take his position by the door without making even the slightest sounded. He'd have no complaints with Smile since she was nearest to silent as anyone could be as well.
Assuming that it was Carlos's voice he heard that was just right outside the door, Ulysses stood to the side of the door, waiting for the man to shut up and walk in so he could get something accomplished. Her body froze in the shadows at the click of the doorknob and her eyes followed Ulysses to his new position. She subdued a growl in her throat and before the human entered the room, she had skittered up along the wall and poised herself on the ceiling. Her head tilted backwards, peering down and creating a terrifying image.
Should the intruder look up and scream, Smile wouldn't hesitate to drop and eliminate instantly. As it was, the shadows were in her favor, and it was unlikely she'd be spotted.
