It's kind of late for this I know, but I was wondering what everyone's favourite or fondest Christmas memories are?

Mine is when I was little, maybe five or six, and It was Christmas eve and I was too excited to sleep and I was tucked up in bed, when I heard a news. It sounded like footsteps... on the roof! SANTA! I remember burrowing into my bed, squeezing my eyes shut and desperately pretending to be asleep.

Many years later I now know that it was my granddad (My mum's dad) with this board thing making noises in the hall pretending to be Santa and his reindeer. that night really brought the magic of Christmas to life for me, and it's probably my favourite memory of all time, except maybe that time my Nan (My father's mum) took me on a plane ride at Christmas on a plane that had a big red nose and everything, and then Santa came aboard mid-flight and gave everyone presents.

So, RPR, what are your best Christmas memories?
Any Christmas from when I was really little before, my family started moving is special to me. Christmas morning was a huge affair, everyone would come to our house really really early to open gifts and a have a massive breakfast. This Christmas that just passed I made some great memories as well, my son was really into it this year; excited beyond all words, it made Christmas morning a treasure. Also having a few adult beverages with my sister in law once it was all said and done was a blast too, first time we really we able to hangout as adults not parents.
My parents hung our stockings on our doorknobs, and Santa would come and fill them with little toys and puzzles and treats. Since we weren't allowed to go in the living room until they were up, I'd always take my stocking and go to my brothers room to play for a few hours, then my mom would get up and make a butter braid for breakfast.

As weird as it may be, my first Christmas after I got married was a special one too. He was deployed for the first time, and he had worked with my parents for these beautiful gifts, including an iPad. I was so upset because he hadn't called, and I was worried, and then my dad came in with this box and he had called on Skype, then hud the iPad in a box. It was like I was getting him for Christmas. It was the first time I'd seen his face in weeks. It was really special.
