Since the ancient times when the world was young and humans didn't yet walk on its surface the mt Groganda have been the home of a powerful dragon.
This dragon have seen world change, countless of centuries to come and go and people slowly spread around.
Great kings, magicians, thieves and adventures have visited his lair. Some to seek counsel, others glory or to plunder the great hoard of wealth the dragon have received as offerings.
Those who came for wisdom maybe got something, maybe not, those who came with I'll intentions never set foot out of his lair as they now "decorate" it as warning, or at least whats the left of them.
He have been worshipped as god, feared as the calamity of the world but he the great dragon Kejatalos have been mostly indifferent about his little visitors. He eats when he wants, would it be bear in the mountains, cow from the farmers pasture or offering left by scared people. But most of the time he have been sleeping.
Until one day something new breaks his long rest.
In the nearby town great misluck have happened, could it be the years harvest been lost, epidemic or whatever, we can brainstorm about it. Anyways the local people believe that this was sent by the great dragon who is angry so to appease him they have come to conclusion to offer him a human sacrifice.
This (unfortunate) gift is no other but your character. Whats the background or why its been selected (willing or unwilling) we can discuss. I understand the obvious cliché of young maiden and as such ok but in general Age and gender are free for you to choose just that its human.
Your characters appearance will force the great dragon to abandon his long slumbering life and take more active role among the humans.

Magic may be accepted as truth but is not common. It might be harnessed only by specific beings. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones.
Iron age
A peaceful setting, but with a chance for small fights and struggles to break out on a very small scale.
Romance is desired but not required, and will balance evenly with other plot.

What im most interested is the characters background.
The town nearby is relatively superstitious and what I see the most logical for human sacrifice is someone not very high social standing. Could it be child of poor farmer who either is just taken or perhaps sold to the cause (for nice compensation).
With some background and reason why she is selected could be good material for further activity between dragon and the town. Dirty little secrets, family dramas, small romances etc. Any good thoughts in this matter are more than welcome.
For the character itself it could be something active type would it be curious, cheerful or intelligent. (Rather than passive frozen in fear type) and perhaps not in good terms with all towns people. (Orphan, thief or simply abuse)
This really caught my eye, if it's still open and you're willing please dm me so we can discuss-- I already have some vague ideas that may work and a character in mind
