The day has finally come: Jacky has found a breeder with an Alolan Vulpix egg, one of the Pokemon she desperately wants to love and dote on. She is one of many who walk out with their new beloved egg, carefully tucked in a padded box, but in a clumsy moment of distraction she bumps into another Trainer with a Mimikyu egg, causing them both to drop their respective boxes. The eggs are fine, but the other trainer is in a great rush, grabs the nearest box and... Jacky realizes they took her Vulpix by accident!
Panicked and distressed, she sets out to pursue them. Will she catch up? What was this trainer in such a rush about?

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.

Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
