Jesse sat down on a bench, she was panting deeply, seeing as she just ran about another five miles. She kept running like this everyday, still trying to forget the memory of the man dying in her arms, after he saved her life. She felt tears whelm in her eyes as she thought about it then quickly wiped them away. She couldn't stand war anymore and was glad that she was off call, she shouldn't be called for another year, she hoped anyways. Her fellow soldiers kept telling her to go see a therapist but she refused, she didn't trust them.
Kevin had been sitting in the park for the last half hour watching a few pixies dance about. They were quite content to continue doing so for a long time however Kevin couldn't stand around and watch them all day. He was about to get up when a female jogger sat down next to him, which he normally would have just shrugged off, however this one was a fallen angel. "Curious, angels alone are pretty rare on this plane of existence, but a fallen angel is even more of a curiosity," he stated, however he continued to look forward watching the pixies.
Jesse hadn't noticed the guy earlier, she had been too exhausted to care. She raised an eyebrow at him, and shrugged. "Not all angels meet up to the high standards of God." She says in between pants, starting to catch her breath. She looks over and sees the pixies, it had been awhile since she had seen any other magical creatures, she had been spending so much time in the human world, hiding herself away.
"From human records that guy seems like somewhat of a prick, and Lucifer realised it but went about attempting to fix it the wrong way. I'm Kevin McCuloch by the way, I'm a mage," he informed her, figuring she would likely ask questions that lead to those answers anyways.
"Jesse Bell, fallen angel and current commander of the US Navy." She said, finally catching her breath she nodded at what he said. "He really is. He cast out some of the best angels for some of the stupidest reasons." She shakes her and sighs. "It is all true, just most don't see it."
"Commander of the US Navy? that is a pretty hefty role, I genuinely leave gods to their own business, as long as they leave me to my own." He paused then finally decided to ask he a more sensitive question he had since she had come close enough for him to be aware. "I feel sadness coming off of you, and I don't think it had anything with Him casting you out, it is a different type of sadness, a regretful one. You don't need to answer, I will respect your silence."
Jesse shrugged. "It is tough but worth it. It is a place where I fit in." She smiled at him. She took her water bottle out and drank some of it. She listened to what he said and look down at the ground. I run a hand through my bangs and sigh. "Being at war leaves more than just physical scars." She says quietly.
"Ah, feeling sorry about anything to deal with death genuinely is not my area of experience, according to some psychologist I have apathy to death. But than again some people call me a weirdo as well, they are simply just as weird to me as I am to them, and I'd say that big guy in the clouds knicked you out because he thought that you was weird, and as far as I am concerned weird is just another word for special... I was ranting to myself again wasn't I, I'm sorry, I am very easily lead away by my thoughts. "
Jesse smiled a bit and shook her head. "Don't be sorry, it is alright. He kicked me out because of my sexuality, he said I need to only be with a man but I thought that being with either gender should be okay, mainly because love is love." She said, shrugging.
"Excellent, I don't like pretending things. So what was your job in heaven? I haven't visisted that place personally but I have temporally traveled to other planes. I took a visit to some Egyptian pharaohs once, they honestly were surprised by my visit. I wonder if my car is getting anxious," he pondered for a second.
"I mainly just had guard work to do, protecting the garden of Eden, He wants to make sure that it is never to be found by humans so there are a group of angels that watch over it, if a human comes close to it, they end going under a trance, where they walk past it, thinking that it is just a pile of sand."
"That guy's special little place of absolute ego? Must have been a pretty boring job," Kevin stated.
Jesse nodded. "Oh, you have no idea. Seeing as it is in the middle of a desert, there is nothing to do really. I am actually glad to be kicked out of Heaven, wasn't as great as everyone believes it to be."
"Few places are great as they say, even if they may appear great," about that time a old Saturn came flying down from the sky and as if it had wings slowed down to a genital touchdown however. I can tell you one thing, I know a great restaurant nearby, comfortable little place that serves all sorts of foods, it's a supernatural hangout. Also I'd like to introduce you to my friend, he is a Thunderbird that is bound to this car, my grampa bound him and his service, and I think he has grown quite attached to the old thing."
Jesse thought on this for a moment then shrugged. "I see no harm in going there, I am going to need to change though, I rarely go to places in sweat pants and a t-shirt. It won't take long, if you don't mind waiting." She said with a calm smile.
I am in no hurry, however I'd preffer not to get ticketed," he replied honestly, "my car can be impatent at time though."
Jesse nodded. "Alright, how about we meet back here later then?"
"What time?" Kevin asked, although he had plans for the day, he didn't have anything that was set in stone scheduled.
Jesse thought for a moment then said, "How does three sound?" She asked.
"Alright, that works for me," Kevin affirmed, than walking over to the car as it opened the driver seat door he got in and it took off. About twenty feet in the air a portal formed and the car went through to another part of the world.
