I remember it'd been established early on that each color had a type they were weak against and a type that was pretty pointless to use against them... Did something get mixed up...?

I think the confusion is that most of the piercing weapons like noble rapiers just deal lower amounts of damage, so it's usually pointless to use it against big enemies with a lot of damage resistance because it rarely does above that threshold.

But there's a type they're weak against, and then they resist the other two types an equal amount. Whether the weapon you're holding can break through the particular monster's damage resistance is its own kettle of fish.
I'd probably do better with these riddls if i actually ever bothered to watch movies and TV

Nothing says monster be gone quite like a flintlock pistol ;D
Mm, I think I've been carrying an incorrect system, then.
Quote:
Green: Weak to piercing damage. Resistant to energy damage.
Red: Weak to slashing damage. Resistant to piercing damage.
Blue: Weak to energy damage. Resistant to slashing, and piercing is also not very effective.

Yeah, more correctly...

Green: Weak to piercing damage. Resistant to energy and slashing damage.
Red: Weak to slashing damage. Resistant to piercing and energy damage.
Blue: Weak to energy damage. Resistant to slashing and piercing damage.

OR just:

Green: Weak to piercing damage.
Red: Weak to slashing damage.
Blue: Weak to energy damage.
oh neat, dynamite

OOOH BOOM CANDY! O:
I know there'd been effort put into identifying specific "resistance" to one type, but I can't recall how it was figured. I'll see about updating all the entries probably some time after EW's over.
That'll help me remember which things I still need info for, too.

I do not know in what way that would be figured, I don't think the weakness/resistance system has changed since like... 2013? 2014? When did we start EW combat?
2014.
No, wait.
2015. The gates first appeared in 2014, but there was no battle system. I think.
Kim Topic Starter Site Admin

That sounds right!
Yeah, it was 2015 the goblins invaded.
Best guess is that people (probably including me) thought they'd identified a seemingly consistent pattern of enemies shrugging off one type more than the other, and that just remained accepted to be true.
i just saw the second video for epic week..

OH, I see that didn't post like it was supposed to on the news *shakes it loose*
