Jazmine nodded slowly. "I've... Never even knew a dog could do that... Or that such a thing even existed." She said, a far off look in her eye.

"Well, up until I met him, neither did I. Of course when you fall into a pit that leads to hell you begin to be willing to believe in anything.

Jazmine's mouth dropped open. "H-hell?" She asked, her voice barely audible.

Vincent nodded, his smile somewhat vanished. "At first I thought it was a normal well until I fell in it. When I got to the bottom I was in a place that looked a lot like hell. He was there lying down with a bunch of hellhounds standing around him biting at him. After I scared them away I nursed him back to health and found my way out. When I got out I named him pride."

Jazmine continued to look at him with a look of disbelief. She blinked before looking away, her manners of not staring to kick in. "Sorry, its just... its not possible... I'm not saying your lying, that is, but..."

"Its okay, I know it definitely sounds odd. And I mean really odd." Vincent suddenly realized what he had done. "I'm sorry! I shouldn't have told you that! I probably sound like a psychopath."

"No no, Its fine! You don't! Its just... I've never heard of anything like that happening before! That's all!" She said, feeling guilty for making him feel like that.

"Are you sure? I mean, telling you that I own a hell hound is a bit odd. I haven't even told you about the scythe I have a contract with and I feel like I'm crazy."

Jazmine felt herself go dizzy at the mention of the scythe. It was all too much for her to absorb. The only time she had heard of thing close to this was in story's she either read or wrote. She held her head, feeling the color drain form her face.

"Are you alright jazmine? I'm sorry, this is probably a lot of information to take in at one time. I am kind of a unique individual." Vincent sat twirling his pen in his hand.

Jazmine slightly turned to him and smiled weakly. "I'll be fine. I just need some time to process this. I guess I've been in the orphanage for so long that I've never really got to experience the world as much as some." She said, lifting her head.

Vincent shrugged. "I guess that's true. Wait, is this your first time being on your own outside the orphanage?"

Jazmine looked down at her hands, which were folded neatly and set on the desk. "Well... yeah." She said in a small voice, feeling embarrassed. Her face turned a light shade of pink. "They always kept us inside the walls. The only things I know about the world is the things I read in storybooks."

Vincent shrugged. "Well, I have to say that that's an interesting way to look at the world. I wonder how different my life would be if I were as fortunate as you. I'm coins of jealous." Vincent warmly smiled at her.

Jazmine looked up at him. "Its not as nice as you think it would be." She said in a low voice. "You never get to see the world, learn about all of its wonders and sorrows, and when your all grown up, your sent out, just like that. You have no information on how the world works. The inly reason I got to go out was because I was an obedient child." She sighed and pulled out a book form her bag and flipped to a blank page. Her pencil grazed over the paper lightly as she started to sketch.

Vincent moped. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. Its just that, well, you're the first person I've talked to in a long time so I didn't know that would offend you. I'll shut up now." Vincent pulled a copy of eye of the world by Robert jordan out of his Bookbag and began to read.

Jazmine felt a pang of guilt in her chest. "No! I mean, you didn't offend me! Its just I'm not use to the outside and I'm just happy to get this chance to meet people like you and I'm just really nervous and excited about learning about the world!" Jazmine fumbled, forgetting about the sketch in her book of what looked like a shining lake.

"Its alright, its just that I didn't want to offend you somehow and have you mad at me. To be honest you're the first friend I've had for a long time." Neil closed his book and looked in jazmines book. "What are you drawing?"

Jazmine blinked twice before she figured out what he was talking about. "Oh, just a picture of a lake I found in one of my books." She said as she looked to the drawing. "I really wish I could see a lake in real life... I hear they're beautiful."

Vincent scratched under his chin in thought for a moment. Finally, he realized what it reminded him of. "There's a lake near my old house! I used to fish there and pride would swim in the water. Maybe one day we could go."
