Jazmine kept him in the warm embrace. It felt strange to do this for her. She had never really tried to comfort someone, but she had seen it plenty of times in stories, and it seemed to be working.
"I wish I could've done something. I wish I could still Have them with me." Vincent moaned in between loud sobs. He was glad jazmine was there to comfort him, otherwise he probably would've done something rash.
Jazmine nodded. "I know the feeling." She mumbled, her mind flashing back to her own family. "You want the days back, but you can never have them again." She felt her chest begin to shake. "But... but you have to keep moving forward."
Vincent sat up. "You're right. I have to think of the positives of life. I have pride, I'm still alive. Oh! And I have you, jazmine." Vincent smiled at her.
Jazmine smiled at his change of mood and nodded. "Right." She said sitting up with him.
"Well, guess we better get back to practicing, huh?" Vincwnt turned back to the piano.
Jazmine nodded and looked at the piano with him. "What kind of genera's of music do you know?"
"A lot of different types. I've never tried to play a pop song on a piano. Then again I'm not really fond of pop music." Vincent stared at the piano but didn't know what to play. "What should I play?"
Jazmine thought for a moment before answering. "Something slow... and soft." She said thoughtfully. "Do you know any song like that?"
"Sure." Vincent cracked his knuckles and began to play "satellite" by Dave Matthews band.
Jazmine smiled when he started to play. She closed her eyes, something that she always did when she listened to music, and enjoyed the sound of the beautiful instrument.
Vincent imagined himself floating through space as he played. The emptiness of the galaxy stretched out all around him as he floated there.
Jazmines thoughts were interrupted by a bell that sounded overhead. "Its time to go." She said sadly, wanting to stay and listen to the piano for the whole day.
Vincent was snapped back into reality by those words. "Alright." He said, somewhat upset that he couldn't stay.
"Whats our next class?" She asked him while walking out, taking one last sad glance at the piano as she exited the room.
"Math. Room B-285. And if I remember correctly since its a two hundred number we'll have to take the stairs over there." Vincent pointed to a staircase in the center of the hallway with a sign over it that said B-200 rooms.
Jazmine nodded slowly as she started towards the staircase. "I hope this teacher is as nice as the others." She thought out loud.
Vincent shrugged. "Well the way I see it is this. We have two friendly teachers so far right? If we have a mean teacher next we can at least enjoy peace In our first two classes."
"Thats true..." Jazmine looked down at her feet as she walked up the stairs, counting the steps she took.
"What are you doing?" Vincent asked, turning the corner on the stairs.
