"Um, I don't know really." Jazmine said, feeling embarrassed that he had noticed. "Its just a habit of mine. When I'm in a place I like to know how many stairs there is, if any, so if I'm carrying something, I know how many steps I have to take. Pretty weird, huh?"

"No. Actually its kind of cute. I never had siblings so its good to see how other people act." Vincent said as they arrived at the door to math class.

Jazmine felt a slight blush when he called it 'cute' but quickly shook it off when they arrived at the door. She stared at it before knocking. A tall, young looking man opened the door and stared doen at them with harsh brown eyes. His black hair was styled the way a business mans hair might be. "New kids?" He asked simply while staring down at them.

"Yep. We're not late are we?" Vincent asked.

The teacher shook his head. "No, I suppose not" He sighed. I'm Mr. Howard. The rules in the class are simple. Do not talk, and do your work. No getting up to socialize." She handed them two packets. "These will test your knowledge so I can see where you are in your mathematic skills. sit at the two desks in the back." He pointed to the back of the classroom.

Vincent took the packet and walked to the back desk to begin working. Picking the seat on the right, he opened the packet and quietly began working.

Jazmine was a bit startled by the introduction, but took the paper all the same and headed to the other empty desk and started to work on it as well, keeping her moth closed in fear that she would get scolded by the teacher.

Vincent took out a sheet of paper and wrote "we should thank him for the ray of sunshine." On it and used his magic to create a small hand that put the paper on jazmines desk.

Jazmine held back a scream when the hand dropped the letter on her desk and opened it cautiously. She couldn't contain the amused smile that crossed her lips when she read it. She scribbled down "How can we, if we talk we might get our heads chewed off" and looked back to Vincent, expecting him to do what he did before and get the note.

As expected, the hand took the note back and gave it to Vincent, who read it as he continued to write something for math. When he was done writing that, he wrote on the paper "I guess that's true. He seems like that kind of person." And the hand put the paler back on jazmines desk.

Jazmine sighed silently and did a couple more problems before writing a reply. "Maybe he'll warm up in the course of the year." She suggested and waited for the paper to go back to him.

Vincent got the paper back and shrugged and wrote "its a possibility."

When Jazmine got the note, she sighed and put it in her pocket. After a couple more minutes she was finished with the packet and got up to give it to Mr. Howard. The took it and looked at her sharply. "You can do something silently until class ends." Jazmine nodded to him and went back to her seat, pulling out her drawing book.

Vincent got up and turned his paper in.

Mr. Howard told Vincent the same thing that he had told Jazmine with the same sharp eyes.

Vincent went back to his seat and began juggling shadows on his desk, sometimes turning them into things Such as small structurse and things. At one point he poked jazmine to get her attention. "Watch this." He whispered.

Jazmine glanced at Vincent to show him that he had her full attention, but she didn't want Mr. Howard to think she was talking.

Carefully Vincent began to slowly create the shape of a human, then added the more meticulous detail like a face. When he was done a miniature jazmine stood on the desk, an exact clone of the real one just smaller.

Jazmines jaw dropped open, but at the same time her eyes widened in wonder. "Its me!" She mouthed to him. "How did you do that?"

"To be honest its something not even I fully understand. All I know is I can create them, and on some level give them life." Vincent set to work for a couple minutes and then was finished making a small version of himself. The small version of him then put the smaller jazmine on his back and jumped onto the regular jazmines desk, where he put her down.
