Gray Hericks walks into the unaircondition cramp room that smelt of cigarettes and coffee...
he was wearing a black white beater and cargo pants. A gun belt around his waist a folder under his arm, as he sat down he laid down the folder on the table between him and Caroline opening it, it showed the portfolio of the state treasure with all the latest bank transaction and debit card payments.
"hello, Caroline I would like to formally thank you for joining CHERUB. We are a elite group of specially trained Agents dedicated to the safe Extraction of Hostages and POW's thank you for joining us"
Gray propped his legs up on the table.
"Now I will ask you to call me Agent:wolf. if that is alright with you if it is not than well..I really do not care you will still call me Agent:wolf as such I will call you Agent:Phoenix alright so now we are clear all you need to know is in this folder I will sit here and wait for you to be done. Than after I will burn it so memorize every detail."

Caroline rolled her eyes. The room was hot, and stank of cigarettes. And the worst part was that there was no more coffee left, despite the smell.
When Gray walked in, she folded her arms and leaned back in her chair.
"Whatever," she scoffed. She was in it because her superiors directed her to, anyway. Otherwise she'd be back at her desk at the FBI doing case files.
Caroline couldn't help but snicker at the codenames. "Are we running a black op or are we doing hostage negotiations?" The folder was supposedly going to be burnt when she was finished, too.
This was met with full-on laughter. "What kind of Boy Scout operation are you running, here? This file would be much more useful for reference. My memory is not one of a supercomputer. Why do we need to burn this file, anyway? Is the national treasury really that classified? And if so, why would burning it prevent the info from getting out if I've got it memorized?"
She just shook her head and opened the file. Clearly, she was working with amateurs. Glad to know that HQ thought so highly of her.

Gray stood up slamming his hand down on the table.
"did your directors really send me some smart-ass brat?..."
"and this operation is called CHERUB, and it will be called as much in 1932 a man of the name Harry M. Tony created this operation to do extractions and hostage negotiations..Well this sector anyways and this is all you will know about the codenames? They are here for our safety you will not know my real name for if you are captured you will not mess this all up I do not care if you die I do not care if you are tortured to your last breath I brought you here because they said you are the best at your job.... And as for the file do you know how bad it would be for the treasures pin number to be out in the open for god sake he owns all the money!"

Caroline briefly licked her lips and leaned forward, folding her hands together.
"Cool it, Bruce Banner. I don't give a rat's ass about what this operation is called, and I couldn't care less about its roots. I've done hundreds of hostage negotiations before and never in my career have we ever used codenames. I highly doubt I'd be captured or tortured, either, seeing as how we're not dealing with a terrorist, we're dealing with some criminal who wants money from the national treasury. But I appreciate your concern, Mr. Hericks. You're right about me being the best."
The use of his last name was more of a dig than anything- Caroline being FBI she did her homework before coming aboard this mission. She wished she had done a little bit more.
"Where the hell is the SWAT team, anyway? Why aren't we on site?"

now he had something on her!...
he chuckles.
"Oh I see your the type that needs a team to get in..hehe I could guess as much like I said specially trained Agents who do special things no need for a team no need for a mess just in and out with out the public's notice right now. They think he is on vacation no need to..ruin his reputation, right?"

Caroline rolled her eyes and snorted.
"You have no idea how hostage situations work, do you? We're not freaking Splinter Cell- I don't care about anybody's reputation. Protocol says we're supposed to have a SWAT team on site. You do realize SWAT don't break in every time, right? You said this was the best, meanwhile I'm stuck here with some teenager who thinks he's all that. You do what you want, I'll stick with what I know."
And with that, she stood up and walked out of the van, slamming the door on her way out. She was going to handle this hostage situation the way she knew how.
There were already news vans and the like surrounding the few black SUVs sitting by the curb of the bank. She slammed the file into the chest of the nearest SWAT agent and gave him a glare. "How many hostages are there?"

Gray leaned back...
no one ever understood CHERUB just because it was his last year as an agent they thought is was a good idea to put him in charge of this sector.
"*sigh* why do I always get the stubborn ones"
he opens the van door walking up to her.
"look I really need you to do this correctly I really can not deal with this, this is my last year and I need this done so I can get the hell out of this organization"

The agent in front of Caroline hesitated for a moment before Gray came up behind her.
Whirling around, she snorted at his request. "I am doing this correctly. And how the hell is this your last year? How long have you been with this group? You're not even legal!" She exclaimed, in a huff.

he shifts uncomfortably.
"I kinda joined at 13..."
"I kinda joined at 13..."
Caroline blinked.
"And I'm the smartass brat." She quipped. "Look, we've already got SWAT and FBI on this case. So now I think your expertise with hostage situations would be really handy. Gimme a sec."
She turned and tapped another guy on the shoulder. "Have we established contact?"
He responded with "No, our negotiator's been shot during a firefight. Our backup is en route."
Caroline nodded. "Okay, I might just have someone for you." She turned to Gray. "You wanna help talk this guy down?"

"I can do better but alright"
gripping the megaphone to his lips he smirked.
"look I know what your doing...and I may not be the person you wanted to talk to today but if you just.." he turns away from the megaphone and winces then turns back.
"if you listen to the SWAT team they will make sure you are carefully and safely taken into custody"

One of the FBI agents walked up to Gray and Carol. "Um, we've got him on the line for you."
He held out a cell phone for Gray to talk to the guy. When he picked up the phone, the man on the other end cussed him out. "No, I won't listen to no ****ing SWAT team! I tell you what's gonna happen: You let me walk out of these doors with the money, and I let these people live. How does that sound?"

Running his hand through his hair gray looked at the stone-grey building like he could see the man inside.
"Look...right now your nervous and your probably shaking..your pupils are dilating..your blood stream is filled with adrenalin, and you probably think you are invincible. But let me tell you something..Your not the second you walk out that door nothing is going to stop them from shooting you use the hostages as a shield..they'll just snipe you from above...so you "****ing" listen to me...you walk out that door you come towards me when I have put the handcuffs on you this will all be over and since you did not kill anyone...yet...they will probably let you out in 50 years or so..get this done with you are making a fool of yourself even trying"

"Fifty years???" came the reply. "Hell no, man! Fifty years for a ****ing bank robbery? Hell, I could rape someone and get a lesser sentence. No, I walk out of here, or one of your precious little hostages dies. You hear me? I shoot em dead. And don't think I'm kidding, neither. I'm dead serious. You come in here? I shoot them all. That blood's on your hands, pig."
gray smirked..
"I'm on your side man I can't deal with these pigs either but this is what happens look at yourself right now..you have a crowd of scared people in there..I have seen it before 60% of the time one of the men in there will try and be a hero and guess what you will shoot him and when you do that we cave in you are ****ed..and guess what you will just be a s**t stain on the newspaper your existence will be forgoten and we will live our merry little lives not thinking of you at all or you could rot in a cell for 50 years look at that hey after you get out you get another chance but if you kill one of them in there HA good luck getting by with a life sentence."

The man hung up the phone about halfway through Gray's rant.
The operator looked at him with an incredulous look in his eyes. It was a "What the hell are you thinking?" look.
Then they heard shots ring out. They didn't stop at one or two, no. They kept ringing out. The SWAT team broke down the door but by the time they had gotten through, he had the gun pressed against the forehead of the very last surviving hostage.
He looked over. "What are you gonna do now, you ****ing pigs?"

with slow unsteady steps gray walked in....
"I thought..I th....."
his eyes go unfocused as he looks at the blood soaking the floor.

The hostage was on her knees- She was blonde. Her eyes were squeezed shut, and she was trying not to cry.
Caroline and the rest of the law enforcement had their guns trained on the man. He was glaring directly at Gray, though. He had a sort of sick, twisted grin on his face.
And his eyes were scrunched into a sneery scowl.
"You thought what, punk? What did you think?"
