how do you actually eat food in this game?

Same way you use other items. Put it in a useable slot and hit E.

Highlight it in your toolbar and click "e", tap the screen, or use the "do" button depending on your setup

Dropped some wood by the seed extractor by the megafarm.

when do supplies send out

We're sending potions! drop em in the cart at base camp and click send

oh so food doesn't send

Food is used in crafting potions, but some foods aren't involved in potion recipes but can be eaten to restore stamina

Which lets you runnnn

There's also two items that are still mysterious. "mountain token" and "land token"
