It me again

Following an impulse to write something otherwise non-canonical to the character's story.

Its rp though, so I can do what I want! With him, at least. Not with everyone else. I definitely wasn't listening to this while writing it, not at all!

Anyways, this is an rp without much direction yet, as it begins with Jal emerging from a dark and dusty place, eager to find answers to the mystery surrounding his emergence. The world is intentionally undefined, except that the territories surrounding the mountain he came from are vast, seemingly uninhabited forest. Really, he could run into anything down there. Mostly I was going for a realm reclaimed by nature, though that doesn't mean that it lacks its own denizens.

It just means there are a lot of ruins to be found. Ruins of lost kingdoms of yore.

You can incorporate any characters and concepts you want so long as they fit the setting of this fantastical, old land. It is best to avoid claiming the territories as belonging to kingdoms of your own making, but if you want to incorporate similar themes we can always weave certain stories and customs in. Just ask me first.

And yes, you can go pretty far in terms of magic and fantastical aspects, so long as they aren't arbitrary. (Your character can have a special ability, but the rules/foundations of magic it depends on do not arbitrate what other people can do with their magic.) That rule, of course, also extends to basic actions as well. You are not allowed to control another person's characters/personal stories without their consent.

Can Ember join? I have a kingdom for her and her family.

Zuhan is strictly a kingdom of elves, ruled by a cruel leader. Located in the largest, and most treacherous forest in the east, this place is full of thieves and criminals. The Forest has a mind of it's own, it keeps its people in and keeps all others out. The likelihood of someone surpassing the Forest, and surviving, is very unlikely. Therefore, they only have guards, and not an army. The people keeps mostly to themselves and hardly participate in any commerce. The only way to leave is by flight, which is highly regulated. King Malvolio and Queen Sidero rule over this kingdom, with their daughter Princess Ember.

That sounds fitting enough to me, generally. Do you want their kingdom to be the general vicinity that the rp starts in, or would you prefer it be somewhere nearby but not encompassing the forest around the mountain? Hell, we could make maps to differentiate territories and make things more comprehensible. (Or at least, I can make a really messy map with rough borders.)

I think that having the mountain nearby, but not too close, would be a good idea. There should be some sort of council of leaders or something. Like the UN... IDK it would give ember a reason to leave Zuhan.

We could do that. Gives opportunities for other nations to be in the overall story. So I suppose this council would be calling a meeting that Ember would be attending for her own kingdom?

with her parents of course... Ember couldn't be trusted alone, otherwise she'd run off. I'm hoping that can be a small subplot of the story. But, of course for that to work we'd need more people.

Well, lets cross our fingers that more folks will express interest. I am somewhat optimistic that they will. I have a couple of friends who have stories of their own, though I haven't spoken to them in some time.

If you’re looking, I offer up this lady here- while Avalynn most definitely pushes the limits of the “fantastical” setting, I feel like a plot like this would force her to be a little more mellow than usual; the lack of settlements would mean a lack of human prey, so she’d be more toned down than usual.

Alternatively, Marcello would be a good fit in here, what with his tendency to avoid humans. he’d find reclaimed ruins a very suitable hiding place/home.

Cool! Would she be classified as a leader? I'm not OP, but I just want info...

Actually, I think fae creatures would fit the setting quite nicely. It is a forest, after all, and one including a secluded elvish kingdom if Star sticks around.

I'd be glad to rp with you again! I think Avalynn can fit in just fine. I'd have dropped in on your closed rps but I'm pretty out of the loop rn. xD

And not to put words in strawberry's mouth, but I'm not certain she'd qualify as one. Looking at her profile, she seems a more solitary character. But if strawberry wants it different, who am I to argue?

Yeah, Avalynn has no real lands she rules over, more just an assortment of sprites, fairies, etc. lol
She’s about as much of a leader as a bandit king would be; she controls a good bit of people, but nothing close to kingdoms or land.


As for my Closed RPs Iltheyn, you’re welcome to join them whenever you’re feeling up to it, we all know I’m prone to letting good friends creep in either way

@Hanged Man & Isaiah Your characters look good to me. Specifically for Isaiah, I do prefer to keep out too much time travel-y stuff, but its not prohibited. The setting is meant to be worked with, not limiting.

Of course. The time travel thing is pretty much only there to justify jumping between rps more fluidly. I don't plan to make it a gamebreaker

Count me in, good friends on mine!

I have elves... good elves... who like to run away and get into trouble (like Achu) and I have evil elves
I do have a preference for playing evil ones (see Kalkas) .... if position is open...

I have thieves... mischevious thieves but with some good morals (like Aynor) and some walking the selfish path (like Calico who would sell his own friends for a reward or if his neck is on the line)

I also have kings available, I can play them good or bad as needed (under Conrad profile)

I have druids/mages, good and bad ones like Taff or Nimueh.

and to add spice to the story and make it all the more challenging, I have knights...
(righteous ones under Merthyr's profile) and crooked ones (under Pentre)

Anyways.... I leave it to the RP owner to let me in... and what positions he wants me to take.
I am very laid back when it comes to roles (primary or sidelines), so guys, you take your shares and let me know what is left to play)
