Virtual advertisements flashed across interactive screens; companies and freelancers alike were offered currency and contracts. A bounty was to be won somewhere far away, on the life-harboring planet of Fraunus.

Little was known about that place, spare that it was far from greater civilization and served as the home to enigmatic aliens known as the Farrovii. It had three moons, long days and a massive variety of local flora dependent on its climate and annual cycles. From beyond the atmosphere, blue and green dominated its near-spherical surface.

The contract was simple, though the journey there would be long; converge on the impressive spacecraft known as the Battleship Pyrrhus and defend its crew as they operate in the world's atmosphere and on its surface. Interest in the objective was kept by means of distributing the first half of payment in segments for each registered contractor; once the objective was achieved the remainder would be dolled out, all in the currency the private contractor chose. The sum would easily make a loyal mercenary rich.

Some time later, as a small army amassed in the battleship, the Farrovii made their stance on the foreigners clear in the form of an ambush. Without time to draw plans the crew and mercenaries reacted violently, hatching a plan that unfurled so poorly it sent both the Pyrrhus and their foe's vessel careening into the atmosphere.

Hey there. Its me again, cracking out random ideas. I've been sorting the details of this one through my brain for a little while but I will try not to be too ramble-y when the time comes to put this into action. For now I'm just attempting an interest check here. I would be very excited to get a few players on this one, ready for a long-term rp with its fair share of conflict.

I am looking for more mature players, but this does not mean that you must be 18+ (I'd have posted elsewhere if that were the case.) Just a decent comprehension of themes in the rp that character reactions won't be grossly inappropriate. Humor is welcome and wanted, though by no means should it derail things.

Ideally this will be an open rp, though that might change if people already involved later on want it closed.

Otherwise I do want to give potentially interested folks an opportunity to strut their characters' stuff. Magitech, intricately thought-out technology, differing alien species, all of these things are open for involvement. No need to suppress imagination, right? Let me know if this premise interests you! I will write the opening post once I see interest.

Ariadne - fallen jedi turned pirate

Kiva - AI with a robot body

Dmitri - troll mercenary who likes big guns

Durga - feral cyborg

Ferris - magitech golem smugler/arms dealer

I wouldn't advise using Ariadne or Dmitri unless localized to a sandbox setting (rather than canon), but the rest of them are good. Also, thanks!

Dmitri can work. Just change "troll" to the name of some alien race.

How many players are you looking for and what is your limit on characters per player? I was thinking of doing 3: Dmitri and Durga with Kiva living in her implants. Kiva and Durga will have a relationship similar to the bear and brain from Evil Con Carne.

As for character per player limits, I didn't really set one. I suppose if there's to be any I'd set it at three to five, depending of course on the player's capability to write for all of them. This is especially important should characters diverge from each other and go to different scenes. It means you have to keep track of a lot more, so it can become a heavier load to just handle a post. So yeah, three is a-ok by me.

I'm hoping for three to four players aside from me, but two others is ok too. I prefer to start rps like that so that if someone has to leave it can still go on, even if a scene is omitted or worked around.

I think I'd like to try this one. Would Brink - human/cyborg with cyberneticly linked pet. And/or Vayari - humanoid alien race called Changer work (they have profiles so you can check em out if you like)? I tend to do better when I focus on only one, but I can try for both if you want more characters.

I do so love to write! But I have to asterisk that I have done very few sci-fi rp's and my 'techy' knowledge is minimal so I tend to fudge those parts. I try to do my best to make it realistic, but if you are looking for in depth technological jargon, I will gladly remove my application xD

Both of them sound like good additions to this rp. Generally when it comes to the technicalities of any rp I do, I let each player decide how in depth they want to be for their own characters. Sometimes its important to understand certain aspects of a situation but those things are usually pretty easy to comprehend no matter how far fetched you want parts of your narrative to be otherwise.

So yeah, we've got ourselves three people. I'll wait a little while longer for a fourth but I think we're good to start. I just need to make the OP.
