I’ve been having a serious case of writers block recently, not only in rp but in short stories and poetry writing as well! Although the thing I was curious about, was how people come up with ideas for their poetry?

I usually write a poem when I'm feeling something intense. It's usually me trying to put the feeling I'm having into words.

Interestingly, the more emotion I feel, the better the poem seems to come out.

Uuuuusually I'm writing about either someone I have a crush on, someone I miss, someone I'm feeling empathy for, or negative feelings I'm having like emptiness or frustration. So I guess for me, the inspiration is an overflow of emotion that feels like it has to go somewhere.

That’s good advice, thank you! I’m finding I’m having some trouble trying to find a way to properly express the emotions, and which ones I wish to write but hopefully I’ll find them!
