- Every once in awhile, on your home page, you may see a prompt like this one:
The custom content warning feature is relatively new compared to the overall age of the site, which means there's quite a lot of profiles that may have been made up to 12 years ago and only had the three standard flag categories to work with to alert others to their content when they were first being set up. I'm hoping these prompts will gently remind and encourage that there's a way to give people a greater opportunity to make healthy viewing choices for themselves, and we'll gradually see more folks adopting this practice. - For those 18+, an option has been added to Comfort & Privacy Settings to only count "verified" adults as adults.
This comes into effect when...- you set "Who can initiate private message conversations with you?" to "My age group (18+) and friends" in your Comfort & Privacy Settings
- you set "Who can send you friend requests?" to "People in my age group (18+)" in your Comfort & Privacy Settings
- you set an individual character profiles' visibility settings to "Only logged in users in my age group"
- you can set a group that has joining age restrictions on it to only accept applications from age-verified accounts. This prevents new applications from being submitted by accounts that have not gone through the age verification process, but will not remove any existing members.
Again, this option is highly restrictive, but it's there for you if that's your boundary.

Gang, you can dismiss the reminder for a particular character by clicking "no thanks," so I really don't think it's that much of an imposition.
As someone who doesn’t enjoy unpleasant surprises, I really appreciate this new feature.
I would like to thank the staff for doing their part to make the site safe for people like me.

I noticed those popping up. I think it is a good idea to add warnings. I'm curious what the character limit is for the details?
@MangoNekros:
The warning/content tags on your character profiles are necessary if your character profiles contain said content. They're not there to just 'be nice', they're there so you're not breaking the rules of the site.
Everybody deserves the opportunity to decide whether they're willing to see specific content on a character profile. While the sexuality, violence and language tags are great umbrella tags covering a wide variety of content, there's a lot of more specific content within said tags that can be very upsetting for others to see.
These reminders exist not to bug you, but to help you be kinder to the rest of the community by allowing them to choose whether they're ready to see what your profiles have to offer, or not. So if you're utilizing these tags to be nice, customizing them to be more specific falls well within that concept.
