It happened! We just passed $5,000 in the Lemonade Stand Fundraiser. 
This was my first, minimum necessary goal, and will help me carve out thinking space to get past some blockers that had been keeping me from making progress for awhile now.
This is so important because this project is extremely complex, with many elements and hundreds of decision points. Design choices that I make here at the beginning will dictate what we can and can't do potentially years later, and I've been wanting to be as intentional as I can about those decisions.
Finding uninterrupted time to do that deep focus has been difficult, because most of the time, the RPR is a passion project. I have to take on other jobs to keep that all-important roof over my head, and it's hard to think through potential implications of various decisions when also trying to build unrelated things for other people. This 5k will let me take some time to reflect, plan, and get comfortable moving forward again.
From here, the goal expands into not just clearing the way to move forward, but gaining momentum with avatar and maps only work time! At 10k, I'll have a runway of about three months where I can churn out as much maps & avatar progress as possible. If we got all the way to 20k, I could spend the rest of the year building maps & avatars for us as my primary focus, without having to stop to service other clients. Imagine how much could happen in that time! I can just taste the sweet sweet pixel goodness that would be possible.Goal 1: $5,000
Getting started: Help me carve out some thinking space to get past blockers. I'll spend the time making crucial choices for project decision points that have been keeping me from continuing.
Goal 2: $10,000
Solid foundation: Gain me about 3 months of focus time on maps & avatars. This will accelerate the project nicely.
Goal 3: $15,000
Pulling ahead: Adding some breathing room to that 3 months to get more done.
