Good morning everyone! You've been making wonderful progress on solving the riddles and filling the collections so far. And if you haven't gotten involved in Epic Week yet this year, don't worry! There's still time to jump in and get involved in the fun!I wanted to put a spotlight on the music in the walrus game this year. It was written by site user Prescience specifically for this game, and on an impressively tight deadline as well!
He tried to tell a story through that music. I'll let him explain it.
Prescience wrote:
The first entry was inspired by Arctic/Antarctic explorers, low moaning wind, ice and a lonely cor anglais moving though the snow represented by flurries of strings. The chimes are the chimes of history.
There's mystery there, beauty is fleeting and temporary.
Then the drums
The walruses are coming!
But they're still a long way off and have a long way to go.
Now the journey is uncertain and perilous as many more join to the rescue
Even this far, industry begins. and still a lonely cor anglais cries out for help
Then...
Victory
Victory... but it quickly dies away, in the snow, in the passage of time.
As for musical inspirations, 'The 7th Guest', 'Hedwig's Theme/The Aquarium', 'The theme to Alien' and 'The theme from The A-Team'

He also wrote a bonus piece of music, just as Epic Week fan art! This one is called Coming Down:
Prescience wrote:
Coming Down is about the long, lonely voyage of an ark ship wandering in space, looking for a new home. But the plinking strings underneath are the sound of debris bouncing off its hull, signaling impending tragedy.
