We're pretty lenient around here. We try to be friendly and understanding and helpful as much as possible. We LIKE being friendly and understanding. You know what we don't like? The sort of rule-breaking by users that could get the whole site into legal trouble. Legal trouble could threaten the site's very existence. And if you break rules that are there to protect the site's very life, you will find that we defend it like a mama bear protecting her cubs.
So seriously. Read the site rules. Read the forum rules. Stick to our rating guidelines. Don't do illegal things. If you want to engage in sexual RP and you and your partner are of an age where it's legal, that's fine: Just make sure you keep it to private messages or in a properly labelled group where that's allowed. If we catch you "cybering" on the public forums, your posting privileges will be suspended. Do it again and you may be permanently banned or have your account deleted without warning. Have fun: Just don't endanger yourself or the entire site with your fun.
While we're at it, let's all try to be considerate of one another's comfort levels. Remember, we're all in this community together!

...And people think there's common sense on the internet.
TOS/RULES are set in place for a reason, kids.
Don't read it, don't be here.

Thanks for the information. Glad to know that there is this rule. I agree with it
Don't worry, Trowa. It's not too complicated!
Nearly all the rules boil down to 1) Be nice to people and 2) Move stuff that isn't kid-friendly to areas of the site that can be kept private or where people can be warned off.

I wasn't aware that so much etiquette may be involved in this. It's not a put off, just a nice slap to the senses to remove any possible ignorance. I'll make a point of perusing the rules then. Thanks!
Seconding Dylan: thank you for posting this, Kim.
I totally agree with this. That is exactly how MSN Groups was shut down.
Thank you for posting this Kim!
Think of the children!! Won't somebody think of the children!?
In all seriousness, I agree with this rule. It's not very enjoyable to read through an RP and suddenly stumble over two people cybering. Though I'm generally not too bothered by it, I'm sure there's alot of people who are, and they need to be respected as well.

Woah sounds like somebody crossed a line. Yeesh.
A lot of people cross the line at least once, but some things weigh more heavily than others. What we found is that most people don't understand the consequences and how severe they can be, and what appears to be a harmless break of the rules can be quite fatal to the site.
This is more an educational warning than anything else to help people understand why this is so important.
I heartily approve! We love that you have fun with adult RP and we don't want to forbid it if it's all legal and fine, all we ask is that it's done in the right place.
That shouldn't be too hard, right?
And don't forget that we can move topics to your own private group if you think it might go to that direction. We will do everything we can to help you out, so please do us this small favor!
