The holidays are fast approaching, beginning with my personal most beloved holiday of all time: HALLOWEEN!This week, we're starting the festivities with two of your favorite fall events and a kick-butt deal.
Trick or treat!
This year, forget that cheesy haunted house and try asking a real monster for candy.
Visit the IC forums this week and look for topics with titles that begin with "Trick or Treat". Other players will be posting their character's residences for your doorbell ringing delight.
These are open roleplays - though there may be some restrictions on how many people can approach the door at once - so feel free to stroll your own characters down the walk and see what fate has in store.
Answer the Door
If your character is ready to accept trick or treaters, just post up a topic in one of the IC forums using a topic title like this: Trick or Treat: Your Character's Name Here
Describe your character's home, then sit back and wait for the IC trick or treaters to start rolling in. You can also feel free to post the link to your forum topic in the comments of this post, so other players can find your homes more easily.
This is a friendly event, even if your character is normally a baby-soul-eating demon -- please do not join in order to assault or harass other characters. Moderators are on duty to help if things get weird!
Sign-ups for the Winter Art Trade Open
The RPR's third annual winter art trade is kicking off today!
Interested artists have two weeks to add their name, by signing up in this forum topic. In two weeks, sign ups will close and each artist will be randomly assigned to another participant. The assignment? Draw them a piece of gift art based on one of their characters! What better holiday gift could there be?
This year, the format is slightly different. We have two levels of participation: Dabbler and Devotee. In years past, some of you have worried that despite your interest in creating a gift for someone else, you felt outclassed by some of the professional artists that participated and experienced art guilt even after giving it your best effort. If you're dying to give a gift but would prefer not to feel guilty about not having Art as Your Job (or degree, or other training), give the new format a try.

I'm super excited for the Art Trade--I've been practicing all day yesterday to refresh my skill. And as for Trick-or-Treat, I need to figure out what my kid-character Hunter Argentum would dress up as...
