Hi everybody! I wanted to take a moment to talk about how far we've come before we get into all the crazy fun and games of epic week.
In just 7 days, it will be our fifth anniversary. I cannot even tell you how excited I am about this. I started working on this event pretty much the moment our fourth anniversary celebration was over, and over the last several months I've had a whole team of people helping with preparations.
But, as excited as I am for this event, I'm more excited about what it represents. This has been an incredible five years. We went from a tiny little character profile building site, that didn't even have a messaging system, to a major online community that thousands of people log into every month.
We're even approaching the point where I can start to imagine that one day, the RPR could be my full time job, instead of an all-consuming passion project. It sounds like absolute paradise to be able to spend all of my time working on the site and making new features and running more events.
Yes, after all these years, it's still just me doing all the programming, although these days I am able to sometimes commission artists and designers to help out. Plus, since the early days of the site, I have had some great help in the form of a kick butt team of moderators. It is a hard job that keeps them super busy, and they do it with a smile and with much love. Thank you so much, guys. You're the reason I sleep at night!
So, I'll wrap this up, but I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who uses the site for an incredible, inspiring and life changing five years. I cannot wait to see what the next five brings. If you compare the site we started with to the site that we have now, it's this incredible and unexpected evolution, and if we maintain that trajectory then the next step must be RPR holodecks on mars.
See you in seven days for our fifth birthday bash, and hopefully in five years for our tenth.

yay! this is a wonderful site and I been around the rp site black this is the best place to rp.
I've only been here for a month or less, and I don't really have many people that roleplay with me, but I absolutely just developing characters. Thanks for creating this awesome site

It has been a great 2 years since I first joined RPR. I look forward to another great two years and another 3 after that! I want to be here when this site goes huge!!!
I don't think I've ever been so glad to be part of a community as I was since I've discovered RPR. I don't know how you do it, but everything about this place makes me want to get involved, something I never thought I'd ever do as I'm generally a pretty quiet person, even online. But seeing this site grow and seeing all of these familiar faces everywhere just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I am very excited to see where this site is headed in the future! But for now I'll settle with what is sure to be the epic-est of all epic weeks.
This is hands down one of the best communities I've had the privilege of being part of. If I'm remembering this right, I think I once got a note from Kim herself on deviantART back when I was still using my old account on there five years ago - if that had never happened I probably never would have known about this place and been able to have joined when I did. I might not be the most active member on here, but I do know I've been here for the ride since near the beginning and I've seen the RPR grow considerably over those five years. And here's to another five years of even better developments!

Five years, hm? Time does fly. Now, if only the time we have to wait until the Epic Week also went by that fast!
I've been around for two years and even though things irl have been crazy lately, I love this place so much! I hope we continue growing and it being this awesome community we are now.
It's official, if you and I lived anywhere near each other I am darn positive we would be best friends IRL.
Also, I am more than happy to push for the RPR being your fulltime job!! So proud to be part of this awesome evolution and can't wait to see the days/months/years ahead of us ^^
