Epic Week always take a lot out of me, and this year was no exception: I am just now starting to feel a little more like myself! Even so, I've managed to push out a number of itty bitty convenience updates over the last few weeks. Here's a sampling:- You can now remove results from Find RP searches that you don't want to see suggested to you again. Just look for this symbol:
- Introduction topics that you haven't posted a welcome in yet are now gently highlighted.
- When creating a new topic on the introduction board, you now have to wait a number of years equal to the number of introduction topics you've created before re-introducing yourself. That means that after your first introduction, you'll need to wait one year to re-introduce yourself. Once you've done a re-introduction, you'll need to wait two years to re-re-introduce yourself, then three years to re-re-re-introduce yourself, and so forth and so on. I'm hoping this strikes a balance between the need to occasionally make yourself known again such as after an extended absence, and keeping the Introduction board focused on its primary mission of helping new members learn about the community and the site.
- I added a link to your introduction topic(s) in the account info page, for funsies.
- When using the "report" button on a forum post, you can now include a short note about why you felt the post deserved mod attention. This has already helped us shorten our response times in a number of potentially tricksy cases, so I'm pretty excited about it!
- If you have blocked someone, they can no longer post responses to topics you create in Looking For RP or Looking For RP - Adults Only.
- The elusive "my posts" page has been taken offline entirely until it can be re-programmed. It was causing some lag issues, and needs better search and filtering tools to be of much use anyway. Sorry about that!
- A lot of work has been done to reduce site lag all over, reducing but not entirely eliminating our recent problems with burden-related Server crashes. This process is forever ongoing, but is getting a lot of special focus right now.
- Mobile update: If you've received a new private message reply on a conversation that's stored in a folder, a link to that folder will appear at the top of the inbox page on mobile to save you the long scroll to the bottom of your inbox to find which folder your new mail is in.
- Group update: Added three new "timeout" lengths for group moderators. They can now block a member from their group for 30 minutes, 1 hour and 3 hours, in addition to the previously existing times. Sometimes, you just need to give someone a quick breather to calm down, but a full day ban seems too harsh.
- Group bug fix: Made lifting a group ban early more reliable -- previously it sometimes took a few tries to get this button to work. Should be solid now.

I know one people that are nameless *cough* do sometimes go away for week or months at a time I sure having a thread for thease situations would be no big deal is there is not one already.

Actually, upon looking again, the random widget does not appear to be working at all.
@Contingency - please submit a bug report.

Overnight the ability to display images in the random widget vanished. This is problematic, given we were having people display little ads to their own pages/IC businesses in the sidebars. Please let me know if this will be fixed. Ty

Aaaaah thank you!! This helps me a ton when someone responds to mod messages I've already tucked away!!

*blinks* Went and checked out my intro post. I was sooo awkward. And a little unpleasant, I think.
