A long awaited overhaul to the Browse Characters page went live this week!If you've ever wanted to round out your adventure RP by inviting some more male characters with a historical design;
If you've wished you could swish away characters with certain warning tags or who had blank profiles;
If you've ever wondered how many female characters have the word "dragon" in their name on the RPR;
then this update is for you!
Want YOUR characters to turn up in category searches? Check out this handy dandy info about categorizing your characters.
This character category search works with our official site-wide categories for the time being; custom categories are still another step down the development path.
Other recent updates
- Support requests (bug reports, questions, etc.) will now automatically start a PM conversation with me, to make it easier for both you and I to keep information about an issue and the progress toward solving it in one place. PM conversations initiated by support requests will have a special little notice at the top. Please still go through the contact form when reporting an issue that needs my attention, don't PM me directly! This will ensure that the issue is automatically added and tracked on my to-do list and doesn't get buried in my inbox.
- Added a "Sort Order" dropdown on your character sorting page. You can now view your characters in alphabetical order, reverse alphabetical order, most recently edited, or by order of original creation.
- The character creation wizard has been heavily remodeled.
- Switched from accordion style to page style
- More mobile friendly
- Clickable/tappable field labels
- More is done with taglines if you enter yours via the wizard.
- Character categories were added to the walkthrough
- Warning flags were added to the walkthrough
- Graduationtaur was dispatched to offer tips and encouragement during the process
- D&D stats were removed -- you can still add them on your own later, of course, but no longer seemed right to privilege one particular play system over any of the hundred others people use here.
- If you enter a decent amount of information, the wizard will break it up across several pages for you
- In most cases, the wizard will set up a page for OOC stuff like a guestbook for you as well.
- Old dashboard edit icons replaced and enlarged, since many members have remarked they didn't notice the pencil icon at first.
Comments
You didn't actually include that "dragon in the name" bit.
But still, hooray!
