Today brings a quality of life upgrade to our forums and private messages! It's really simple: Any message that begins and ends with double parenthesis ((like this)) will now be clearly marked as being OOC, and look different than the other messages in that conversation.
At any time, you can choose to collapse all OOC posts down to a single line, so you can keep your focus on the RP. Re-expand them with a single click. You'll find that link at the top of forum threads that contain OOC banter.
You can also set OOC chatter to start out compressed by default. Go to Dashboard > Your Settings and look under Display Settings. Throw a check next to "Collapse OOC chatter in IC threads by default," save your changes, and you're good to go!
Does it work in chats?
Partially - all OOC messages will be clearly marked as such, but will not be collapsed in chats. (This has to do with the way the chat scrolls and collapsing and uncollapsing things causing weird scrolling behaviors on some browsers/devices, and sometimes even crashes on others.)
Does it work in groups?
Not yet - I'm still looking at the best way to implement for groups.
Other updates
- Minor changes to the look of the public forums - no more clumsy rows of hard to read buttons on every forum posts.
- Clicking the timestamp on a forum post will now yield an anchor link - so you can link people directly to a specific post on the forums rather than just to the page it's on.

Awesome! Thanks Kim!
I used to use the collapse function to keep the OOC from crowdning the IC writing. Now it isn't necessary!

I particularly like the ability to link someone to a particular forum post instead of just the page.
@Screamingfrosty - It currently only responds to double parenthesis.
Is it just the (( brackets or does it work for || too?
This is extremely useful! Good work!
gosh, this is much more than a minor update! bravo to all of this! i'm hoping this will cut down on the OOC threads in the RP Discussion board.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! Thank you, thank you thank you! I need this!
