Here's a secret about the Find RP search tool that not everyone knows:You don't have to narrow down the results at all! You can leave your magic/technology/combat ranges all at 0% to 100%. You can leave every single style of RP checked off. You can choose not to enter any keywords. You can just instantly press "Find Games!" to see a selection from all the current RPs on offer.
But why do that when you could just as easily go directly to the forums and see the same thing?
Unlike in the forums, you can mark a result in the Find RP search tool as uninteresting to you, and it will never come up in your search results again. That means that no matter how many times someone bumps their RP that you don't want to participate in, it can never crowd out other topics you haven't spotted yet, and may find more interesting. That's cool.
That means that with regular use, even if you never adjust a single search setting, the Find RP search tool results can be more relevant than the forums, never wasting your time with a RP you've already decided isn't for you.
Speaking of bumping: The RP Finder shows its results in random order, taking from a selection of RP ads where the OP was active in the last two weeks. Don't like the 20 results you've been shown? Just refresh! (although maybe take the time to mark the ones you never want to see again as uninteresting to you first. )
Why can random order be an upgrade over the forum order? It means that what's on your front page of search results can be new to you, not what was just freshly bumped again. It takes the pressure off topic creators to bump their topics every day to stay relevant. It means you can both focus on finding RP instead of fighting for the front page of a fast-moving forum.

Marking topics off search results sounds a very interesting feature. I shall try that. Thank you Kim, a useful article indeed
@Voldarian_Empire - I will most certainly answer questions here, or else you can make a topic in the help forum
This is an excellent news post! I feel like a lot of people (and I 100% include myself in that) don't know many of these little features about the rp finder. After reading this I feel I owe it to Kim, the rp finder, and every rp post out there to tinker with this rp finder to better get a handle on what its true gifts might be!
Is this a good place to ask questions about it if I should run into any? Or maybe a help section has a better area to post?

Oh wow, I didn't realize this was possible! I look forward to checking it out!
These are the parts about the Find RP tool I love so much. I can't WAIT to see what improvements will come along in version 2.0!
