We made it! After 26 hours of downtime, the site upgrade is complete. Welcome to the rebuild of the RP Repository, and the fruits of the labors of Operation Audacious Phoenix!
Every feature the site has ever had has been rebuilt from the ground up in an effort to modernize, improve, and prepare us for bigger and better things in the future. Over the coming weeks I'll be posting a series of new feature spotlights, but just to give you a little taste, here's some things to try out:
- You can compose character and group profiles using columns and rows. Translation: YOU CAN DRAG MULTIPLE WIDGETS NEXT TO EACH OTHER
- Check out the rebuilt Find RP section. I'm not even going to explain what's new to you... I'll let it do that.
- Want a dark mode for the site? A high contrast minimalist mode? We've got those now! Go adjust your display settings
- IC/OOC views for IC forum topics on the public forums, in group forums, and in private messages (when you mark them as IC)!
There are literally hundreds of other improvements and expansions, so go explore and find them.
Of course, the fact that everything has been rebuilt also means it's possible that any of those things (see above re: everything) could have been broken or had a new bug introduced in the process of recreating it.
If you find something wrong, or even something you THINK might be wrong but aren't sure about, please submit a bug report right away. If for some reason you aren't able to use the bug report form, you can email me at admin@rprepository.com
Please bear with me, I am still running around working to re-enable push notifications, rewrite the help database, and deal with the unexpected lag problem -- but I absolutely MUST get some sleep right now.I want to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support, both emotional and financial, through this year-long process of re-writing the site. Thank you also for your patience as this upgrade process took place. I wouldn't want to go through a process like this with any other community, but you make it all worth it.
P.S. I'm planning to kick off FOBETEO this Friday, to give everyone a chance to settle in a bit.

The site is beautiful. I would have commented earlier yesterday or the other day, but my laptop was acting funny and on mobile I couldn't send a message because the message box wasn't here!! :o
But above all, amazing job on this transition!!! Thank you all moderators and Kim for making such an amazing site possible.

@Vinters The plan is to always be improving. But if you're having trouble with the new image uploads, you may want to switch to using the legacy uploaders for now.
Looking good so far, Kim! I was just wondering though if we'll ever get better, more high definition icons? Since at the moment the quality gets sucked right out of the images used.
@Cyanymph Push notifications are offline just now. I'm working to get the rest of the site stable before re-activating them. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thank you for all the hard work you do!
I haven't been able to explore much yet but what I've seen looks fantastic!
Thank you and great job on getting everything moved over

Congrats on the full move!
I am a little lost on the push notifications, do those still work or not as of yet?

Thank you, Kim!
You are amazing!!! Thank you so much! Can not wait to start writing again with 2.0
Thank you! Kim you're amazing this 2.0 is awesome. I have no other words, I'm speechless. Wow 😱 ðŸ‘
I haven't had a chance to explore in great detail but the work and effort that I have seen blows me away! The love and care and thoughtfulness you've put into your projects is very clearly seen, and I can't wait to see what more RPR becomes as the process is finished up, but above all thank you so much for all the hard work!
All bugs aside I'm super excited that 2.0 is here! Thank you for working so hard Kim (and anyone else who helped ofc)!
I really love the new layout, so simple and easy to read!! Can't wait to start exploring and helping tackle those bugs.

@Michonne - Please send me links to anything that's not working for you through the bug report form. It is under Help > Report a Problem. Please don't use the forums to report issues, I am trying to keep all bug reports in one place so I don't lose them.
So uhm...some of my characters webpages, I can't get to. Hell, some forum topics I can't get to. It looks amazing though from what I've seen so great job. I wish I could...get to the forums to report my issues but it's not letting me
Yay! Thank you so much for your hard work! You even went without sleep and you probably were anxious about its upcoming. This all looks so awesome and just thank you so much for providing me a place to rp and enjoy it again .
Yay Thanks for all your hard work! Now I have all sorts of things to explore!
I am loving this new layout, the dark theme's my favorite!
The feed is nice and uncluttered, the editor is neat, the new editor features have brought tears to many an eye, overall this was an amazing update and I think it was pulled off so well!

Looks good and I like the new features. I'm not sure if it's just me but the site is loading really slowly though. It's taking 30 to 60 seconds (regardless of browser) to load anything I click on from the menus or links on the site compared to the couple of seconds previously. Hopefully that'll just work itself out though.
I was wondering if, for mobile users, are we going to get back our devoted private message button, or will we always have to go through the menus?
