This is the first year that Epic Week has included a real-time multiplayer farming game, so let's take a look at how to get started with it! You can find the farming game here: https://www.rprepository.com/events/epicweek/2021/careBasic controls
- Arrow keys or WASD to move.
- E to interact.
- Q to see the names of other players.
First steps
As is so often the case in life, the very first thing to do when you arrive in-game is to find yourself a tree, and then punch it until it falls down.
Take the wood it drops to the crafting table near the starting campfire, and craft yourself a wooden pickaxe.
A wooden pickaxe is not very strong, but it can break rocks. Once you've got yourself some rocks, you may be able to craft a stone pickaxe, and from there, perhaps even an iron or steel pickaxe! Some types of ore, such as gold, can only be extracted with a very strong pickaxe.
Once you have wood and stone, you are on the ladder to crafting all kinds of other useful tools.
Farming & Cooking
Sometimes while you're exploring the forest, you will find some seeds.
Find yourself a farm plot - it's just plain brown dirt, like this.
Use a hoe to till the ground, and then stick your seeds into the ground.
Craft a bucket, fill it with water at a well, pond or river, and keep your seeds watered until they are ready for harvest!
Crops can only be harvested once! After that, they will fade to nearly black, and need to be removed with a hoe.
Once you have some delicious fruit & veg, take it over to the campfire and see if there are any recipes you can cook with it.
When you're ready, take your fruit, veg and deliciously prepared meals over to the wagon, load them in, and press Ship Food to send your food to the people who need it.
Building Shelters
Shelter construction sites are located to the southwest of the main campfire. Approach any of these construction sites and press 'E' while facing it to see a list of materials that are still needed.
Whenever a shelter is completed, the shelter count goes up, and a new shelter is begun!
Objective
Keep an eye on the food and shelter needs of the refugees that are arriving in Repository city, and try to make sure that they always have enough to prevent their hope from decreasing. Hope is an important component of the anti-volcanic eruption enchantments we are trying to strengthen!
More!

FAQ
Does it work on mobile?
Kind of. It's not the optimum way to experience the game, though!
How do I get eggs and milk from the animals?
Put animal feed in their trough. They will gradually eat the feed, and as they do, milk or eggs will be dropped near their trough.
The trough can hold a maximum of 50 bags of feed at any given time, but you don't need to completely fill it for the animals to start eating.
What is the hammer for?
You can use a hammer to remove any constructions you have started that you realized were put in an ill-advised place. You get a full refund of materials when removing constructions that aren't yet complete, and a partial refund when removing completed constructions.
Can I change my avatar?
Yes? Use this link: https://www.rprepository.com/avatarbuilder or click the settings button (top right) in the game and choose "Change Avatar" from in game.

I saw a bunch of people lining up for what appeared to be a screenshot yesterday morning, and I leaped in to join the photo it made me so happy to see people taking selfies together
I second Dndmama's comment
Where on earth did you get that screen shot of me and my group members?!
Yay yay yay. I did a little on mobile last night, and was able to collect stuff... However, lie you said, it was hard to interact with things. I'll have to get on the computer later. but that's honestly fine! It's an amazing game and I'm a little bit used to PC games, so it's cool to play one on the computer again.
I really love the avatar and the areas and stuff. I tried to feed corn to some cows but it didn't work..... hehehehe.
Later I'll plant seeds! Maybe I can make animal feed by myself.

I'm super glad this helped you, ChaosRain16!
Oh! This makes a lot of sense now. Thanks!
