Bot attacks - RP Repository

Over the last week or so, you may have noticed we've been experiencing micro-downtimes ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes. They've been becoming more frequent as we are plagued by an increasing number of bots who eat up so much of our CPU by trying to access practically every page on the site at once that the server goes down.

We'd lived in peace with the robotic denizens of the web for some years now, so we were about due for our next bot attack. I'm working on setting up new defenses against this latest round of bot harassment, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that once we solve this one, we can go another couple of years before dealing with bots again. I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience in the meanwhile!
