In honor of NaNoWriMo, I have another literary-inspired prompt for you this week.RP prompts may be complete plot ideas, a single situation, a character, a feeling, a challenge, or even a photo to use as inspiration. Start a new RP to play them out, or use them to add a twist to an existing RP. Modify them, take inspiration from them, or use them as is!
A village, city or other settlement is struck by a strange affliction. What starts with a single person rolling in their bed at night quickly spreads into none of the locals being able to sleep and still remaining rested. Though at first this is welcomed, the drawbacks of this insomnia plague are soon revealed: piece by piece, it eats at the memory of the afflicted, until all that is left is an empty husk. You are outlanders, tasked by the forgetful mayor of the town to find a cure or at least identify the source of the insomnia plague before it's too late. This prompt would be great as a quest with a little twist like what Dragoncat was talking about it would be a great way to start questing and likewise.

really cool and sounds very fun
Ooh, we just finished re-watching an old Star Trek: TNG episode with a similar plot!

Hmmmm, my mercenary trio could be the ones hired. I'd assume it's a curse placed on this town by some evil magician, so they'd have to track said magician down, kill him/her, and then find the antidote recipe and make it and pass it out to all the townspeople.
*sigh* RIP Fire Emblem Roleplaying Network, aka FERN. Small forum on a free host, it was, but it was absolutely awesome until site drama killed it. This would've been a perfect RP to have there! A few people had magic wielding villains too.
I may send this to a good friend of mine who I've FE RPed with a lot though, and we both have mercenaries, she has some nobility/knights as well. We'd just need to come up with the evil magician. We could probably NPC him/her if it's just us two, or maybe she might actually have a mage villain I don't know about. Wait a second...*gasp* she does! Sorcerer calling himself Phantom. He'd be perfect.
We'd have to do it elsewhere since she hasn't joined RPR yet and may not, but thanks for the idea!
