We made it! After 26 hours of downtime, the site upgrade is complete. Welcome to the rebuild of the RP Repository, and the fruits of the labors of Operation Audacious Phoenix!
Every feature the site has ever had has been rebuilt from the ground up in an effort to modernize, improve, and prepare us for bigger and better things in the future. Over the coming weeks I'll be posting a series of new feature spotlights, but just to give you a little taste, here's some things to try out:
- You can compose character and group profiles using columns and rows. Translation: YOU CAN DRAG MULTIPLE WIDGETS NEXT TO EACH OTHER
- Check out the rebuilt Find RP section. I'm not even going to explain what's new to you... I'll let it do that.
- Want a dark mode for the site? A high contrast minimalist mode? We've got those now! Go adjust your display settings
- IC/OOC views for IC forum topics on the public forums, in group forums, and in private messages (when you mark them as IC)!
There are literally hundreds of other improvements and expansions, so go explore and find them.
Of course, the fact that everything has been rebuilt also means it's possible that any of those things (see above re: everything) could have been broken or had a new bug introduced in the process of recreating it.
If you find something wrong, or even something you THINK might be wrong but aren't sure about, please submit a bug report right away. If for some reason you aren't able to use the bug report form, you can email me at admin@rprepository.com
Please bear with me, I am still running around working to re-enable push notifications, rewrite the help database, and deal with the unexpected lag problem -- but I absolutely MUST get some sleep right now.I want to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support, both emotional and financial, through this year-long process of re-writing the site. Thank you also for your patience as this upgrade process took place. I wouldn't want to go through a process like this with any other community, but you make it all worth it.
P.S. I'm planning to kick off FOBETEO this Friday, to give everyone a chance to settle in a bit.

I. Love. It! I saw it last night Shen it came online and squeeeee'd!
I get a 594 or a 503 gateway error approximately every 3 or 4 clicks, but a few minutes and a refresh seems to work. Off to play with characters!

Just a quick glance around shows so much that's been updated, it's hardly believable. And man, I'm loving the Dark theme. I'm loving--everything, actually, so far. The more I poke around the better everything seems.
Thank you for everything, Kim!! It all looks wonderful!
Juls! LOVE THE POEM!
Well done Kim, WELL DONE! Thank you so very much!

Good work! I seem to be getting issues with page loading, but still a good job overall!
A dark theme?!?!? You did such an amazing job, Kim! You earned a good, long rest â¤

Wahoooooo!! Thanks Kim for all your hard work in all of this. You're seriously a superstar!!
Ooh, excited! I'm so psyched to see all the changes you've implemented! I hope you rest well, and rest lots. All that work must have been exhausting. Take it easy, Kim, and thank you!
'Twas the night before the Phoenix
'Twas the night before the Phoenix, when all through the site
Not a player was stirring, not even a sprite;
The characters were made with love and with care,
In hopes that Ms Kim soon would be there;
The players were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of new templates danced in their heads;
And dndmamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When from the repository there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the computer I promptly did go,
Tried to log in, then exclaimed 'Oh no!'
The database is locked, for maintenance, chap!
Sorry, it will be back up ASAP!
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a fiery bird to make the masses cheer.
Hopped up on caffeine and full of vim,
I knew in a moment it must be Ms. Kim.
Funded by the purchases of the bake sale
These pretty items, they never go stale!
Now cupcakes! Now ice cream! Now cookies and a phoenix!
Oh macaroons! Oh bacon! Oh hot cuppas and cinnamon stix!
These lovely elements decorate our profiles and wall
Much better than any gift you could buy at the mall!
She has been working for months, from morn til night,
To bring us these updates to the website.
A bundle of new features she had up her sleeve,
With mad Javascript skills we could hardly believe!
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
While we all waited (im)patiently for the new perks!
Rows and columns, dice rollers, and widgets,
New color schemes, we could not help but fidget!
The update's complete, the audacious phoenix now flies;
All of the players would be overjoyed, but Kim's bleary eyed!
I heard her exclaim, ere she drove out of sight -,
"Enjoy 2.0 all! And to all a good-night."
