Eight years ago today, "Heart Of Gold", the thirteenth episode of the hit sci-fi series Firefly was aired, and the series was cancelled.
They didn't even bother to air the last two episodes.
And there won't be any more.
EVER.
See? There's just no way to express how desperately sad the situation was. And still is.

Had to remind me of the pain. I thought I could just let it go but here it is once more.
I loved the series and the movie. They were good. I found a bit of a few personalities of a few characters from the movie in a few characters I rp with. It was amusing, when a friend and I compared our chars to a few in the movie hah! I didn't believe that Jewel played in that!

There closest we get to new episodes now are some comics that Joss Whedon has written.
I read one of them and while good, just didn't feel the same. I know some of the others deal with unresolved mysteries of the show but at this point, I personally feel I'd rather keep those mysteries.

The fan movement for Firefly was really inspiring. I wish it had saved the show, but I was happy to get the movie!
The final episode that was never aired did indeed get put on the DVDs, so what there is to watch is out there.

I'm not even sure if anyone's watching this old news, but I got bored and browsed the site.
Check this out. The movie, Serenity, was based off of fan demand and throw-back. In fact, the success of that fan-movement was the encouragement for my own fan movement, Slayers Challenge, for the canceled english Slayers books. And it worked!
Regardless, there is an odd proposition to Firefly fans...
Do you know anywhere the last few episodes were ever put on? The DVDs or anything? If not, I promise you that a whole lot of complaining gets a whole lot of results.

Wow! I would adore to see pictures of a firefly themed wedding, it sounds amazing. Wonderful to hear from so many fellow Firefly fans!

I was introduced to Firefly by my then boyfriend three years ago. Last year we celebrated our fourth year anniversary on June 23, Firefly day. This year we got married in a Firefly themed wedding. This show was one of the best things ever. EVER.

Loved Firefly, i got the entire series and the movie Serenity..........im so sad they ended the series where they did x.x
Sigh, seeing Nathan Fillion's delicious rear end was a highlight of my life. I can rewatch Firefly endlessly and never get bored with it.

Despite its well-known producer and star-studded cast, Firefly got off to a rough start. According to ScreenRant, the episodes were accidentally aired out of order. They kicked things off with the second installment, and the pilot was the last episode to debut.
though we all miss it dearly.
