This website serves as a collective knowledge base about the Daegni species, offering insight into what we know about them so far. We appreciate your interest in learning more about our unique concept! While the core idea and original traits of the Daegni are well-established, ongoing additions and refinements will be made over time.

A couple of important guidelines to remember:
    • The Daegni are a closed species, meaning players must apply to join. There are no fees for application or membership.
    • Daegni are approved to be played in The Golden Tether, Blackwood, and Thornmouth!

In the mystical realm of Feywild, the Daegni stand out as an extraordinary species, blending canine and insect traits to create a truly unique and enchanting appearance. These ethereal beings possess bodies adorned with translucent crystals that glow with magical energy, and their wings allow them to take graceful flight. Their fur is marked with Feylight patterns, symbolizing their innate magical essence. Despite their fragile skeletal structure, the Daegni are resilient, with strong fur and skin. While they are predominantly known for their intelligence and magical abilities, rare warrior Daegni rely on physical prowess and combat skills. Their captivating beauty and mystical presence reflect the wonder of the Feywild.

Though rooted in the DnD realm, we will use its lore as a reference to shape their world and creatures. However, no prior knowledge of DnD is necessary to engage with the Daegni universe—it’s simply a point of inspiration.

Q: Will all of them have antennae or will it be court specific like the horns?

A: All of them! Unless you wanna be a rarity without them!

Q: In regards to approved dreams, does that mean only those dreams can be RPed in?

A:If you have another dream that you think would accept our species then I'll be glad to talk to the dream owner and see if they'll allow it. But to be safe yeah I would prefer you to stay in the realm of places that said they would accept our species.

Q: Does it have to be a single pair of horns or can it be a set?

A: Either or! But we prefer that the horns do not take a hexagonal shape or a unicorn shape, they must be Cervid in shape.

    Q: What's the minimum size?

A: Small would be 1-4 feet, Medium 4.1-8 feet, and large 8.1-10 feet.

Q: What are acceptable kinds of gems, precious stones? Are there location restrictions?

A: Any kind of gem is acceptable as long as nobody else has that one. Allowing individualization between each other and their offspring. Gems are placed in "patches" and are allowed a certain # unless the mutation of overgrowth. Patches include a symmetrical look, that is ONE patch of gems. Gem patches can be placed anywhere that including wings, tails, and antennae.

Q: The antenna + horns + ears + hair feel too busy. Perhaps the High Court has horns and the Low Court has antennae?

A: You can have a rarity without antennae if you desire, but....we feel that without antennae for both, it's too many differences and it might be a split in the diversity.

    Q: What makes a Daegni a Daegni?

A: What makes a Daegni a Daegni is the wings, antennae, gems with Canidae features, and their nebula fur markings. The variation of how the wings, the canine, horns, antennae, and gems is vast.

Q: When do Daegni reach maturity? How are they born?

A: Daegni reach maturity about 50 years. They're born like any other canine, however, around 30-45 years of age they suddenly need to "hibernate". During this phase, they sprout their wings painfully but proudly (Horns if high court). (AKA Pupate)

Q: How long is the pupal stage?

A: The pupal stage is about two weeks long.

Q: Can the wings get wet and can they still fly afterwards?

A: Yes. Microscopic hairs that can't be seen are around the antennae and wings of the Daegni, allowing them to survive in water and swim efficiently.

    Q:Can Daegni lie?

A: No, they cannot. They can tell half-truths and riddles.

Q: What are the guidelines for canine attributes?

A: Any variation of the Canidae which includes wild dogs of Africa.

Q: What are their physical traits, if they're part insect are they specific parts or is it unique to that person

A: Daegni's physical traits are canine, insect, and faerie quality with gems. Mutations exist of course allowing differing chances of other insect traits but it is rare.

Q: Can you explain what you mean by a spell like vs natural like?

A: Doesn't need to be a spell. Aka. cantrip. That doesn't use verbal phrases or any items.

Q: What happens if one Daegni from one court, gets with one from a different court? Would their babies have both?

A: It's a 50/50 of getting one or the other. However, if they're raised in one primary court, there is more likelihood of them adapting/changing over.
